Your thoughts on The Longest Journey?

I just picked up The Longest Journey the other day for $9.99 CAD. I know everyone says it's a great game and even potentially the greatest, if not one of the greatest, but I wanted to see what everyone here, who has played it, thought of it.

I really liked TLJ. It's got a good story - which will surprise you to some extent, unless you already know it.
The puzzles are pretty nice too, though a few of them probably could have done with a few more in-game hints.

I obtained a while back, but haven't really played it that much. I liked what I saw so far though.
