Hi there,
does anyone remember the name of the village in KQ3? I believe it was Port Bryce or something?

Port Bruce? But IIRC, that's just the name of the port... the village itself was never named? Then again, maybe the port was never named either, and it's just Spear getting in my head again! Someone who isn't at work will have to go check

The little port town was called "Port Bruce". This included the tavern, general store and all those other unmarked buildings. I don't believe it was ever referred to as Port Bruce in the game though. I'm pretty sure this was a name made up by The King's Quest Companion.

I never thought a town with 5 buildings (two of which you could access) was actually called a town. I would have considered it a .... um five buildings sitting close to each other.
I never knew there was a name for it.

Five buildings standing next to each other are called a strip mall.

Yeah, I think it's a coincidence. Or, more precisely, they're both drawing on Welsh sources.

Well, I did notice that the names 'Gwydion' and 'Alexander' appear in celtic mythology (Manannan interestingly enough is a sea god)
Anyway Port Bruce, then. I believe it qualifies as a town given the way adventure games work. After all, Castle Daventry consists of just two hallways and a throne room, no?

Heh. Reminds me of a small town (not even a town) here in South Africa. To this day this town has about 4-5 houses. Many years ago one of our Presidents had a farm nearby this 'town' and since official documents can only be signed in a city, he declared this 4 house town as a city. Probably the smallest city in the world... so small, no-one around here can remember its name.
Nice to know the town had a name. Perhaps the name should be mentioned somewhere in QfG2VGA?
