King's Quest 3 Remake.
Agd: Do you thing there is a possibility that you could start a KQ3 remake? It was one of the first games I played back in the 80s when I was a kid, and I loved it!

Cpg - until AGDI makes theirs, we're making a remake of King's Quest III. You can find out more about it at www.infamous-adventures.com - you should check it out!Cpg007 wrote:Agd: Do you thing there is a possibility that you could start a KQ3 remake? no,
Nah, I'm more in favor of ANSI versions. Or let's try porting them to the C64, since they already run on the GBA.

A combination of factors:
The scripter working on it went MIA. We didn't have anyone to replace him. Therefore, SQ2VGA probably wouldn't get any attention until after QFG2VGA. At that time, we heard of someone else doing a similar project. We figured he'd finish this project way before our SQ2VGA and since both remakes were 1:1 remakes, we figured releasing a similar product way after the release of another wasn't something to spend lots of time on.

Yeah, fair enough. It would be nice to see Wookie develop his 'Father' storyline, sure.
Personally, though, I dont' feel KQ3's plot needs a whole lot of messing around with. I've seen suggestions on the net for remakes ranging from making the Three Bears the Royal Family of Llewdor to Making Mananann Black. I ask only one question.......
Why?
The plot to KQIII is actually pretty advanced. The only thing the game could use is some enhanced cut-scenes to flesh out the story a bit - but major changes to Characters, situations, puzzles and such - it just need not be taken to the extreme that KQ2 was. KQ2 was basically another 'treasure hunt'. KQIII actually had a plot. There are something's you can remake, change and add to and enhance - because they NEED it. I think, for the most part, KQIII is fine the way it is. (Except for ONE INSTANCE, and that's the freaking Gnome at the end. He's a wanker. Seriously. His dialogue reeks of 'FINISH THE GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!! DEUS EX MACHINA! DEUS EX MACHINA! I DON'T CARE'.)
But, because I liked the story of 'The Father' in KQ2VGA +, I would be intrigued to see that tied together some more, but alas - it may never come to fruition; at least not anytime soon. But that's okay. I know the remake I'm working on promises to be a great version of KQIII, even if we don't have 'The Father'.
