Thats a great idea, I remember when they did that over in the X2 forums for the release date of 1.4... it was great fun. I Claim December 25th, 2004!

I take April 1st, 2005. ;)

Anyway, I'm willing to wait as long as it takes for it to be completed.

I wonder what they're going to do next year. It will have to be pretty convincing.

How about turning the site upsidedown?

(Heh heh, now that I gave them the idea, they won't be able to use it since people will be watching for it. Brilliant!)

Let's see,

Last year was the KQ2:RTS speech pack announcement, which most people thought was just a joke. While others, like myself, questioned whether we were supposed to think that is was a joke, when it wasn't.

Then this year, we the forums went. And then we got new ones.

So next year,
AGDI will announce a speech pack for QFG2VGA. Shortly after that, the forums will go down. Later that day, the forums return, with all traces of the speech pack announcement gone. Then they hide the link to the speech pack in the KQ1 download page, until someone finds it.

I had nothing to do with either of those.... ;)

AGDI would never finishe the game by this year, I'm told mid 2005. Along with hero6, SQ7, SQVM & SQ8. They are all coming out around the same time. SQ 7 is late 2005 though.

The good news is that it will certainly be released before mid-2005. Assuming a lengthy beta testing process (and a few other factors we have little control over), we're currently looking at early 2005. Can't narrow it down any further than that at this stage, unfortunately.

The game should go into alpha in the next couple of months, which will signal the end of development. At that point we'll have a fully playable game from beginning to end (with all 3 character classes) ready for internal testing.

So technically we will finish the game this year, as predicted, but it won't be released till next year. :)

The bad news is that you probably won't get to play it till next year!

Yeah. Like, say,

"To whom it may concern:

Your Quest for Glory project has been brought to our attention. Because of dangers concerning copyright laws, and the fact that your project infringes on said laws, we are ordering you to cease production immediately. Failure to comply will result in immediate legal action taken against you.

That's frighteningly accurate, Rav. You're not going to imply you have first-hand experience with notices like that, eh?

Just as -- what seemed to be a long, long, wait for KQ2VGA's release, the end result was well worth it. It was a solid bit of programming and thousands really appreciated the art, animation, and music...and later, the voices. AGDI has built a reputation of quality that it's not going to let go by the wayside by trying to rush an early release of QFG2. There ARE bigger and better things to come in the months and years ahead! And AGDI's goal has always been, from the very beginning, to do it right...and do it good. Your patience and loyalty is a very big part of what's making the games as good as they are.
