Police Quest 2 has yet to be remade. I remember there was a team that was doing it but I don't know what's become of them now. Oh and Gold Rush.

I doubt fans would still exist in 20 years.

Well, most of the fans at this forum will be 30-50 in 20 years. I for one have plans to continue existing.

Some people will always have a nostalgic love of adventure games. In twenty years time we'll probably have immersive virtual reality environments, and there'll be fans remaking the remakes for them :D

What's left? Well, let's see... KQIV. SQ2, SQ3. PQ1, PQ2. LL2, LL3, LL4. Gold Rush. Black Cauldron. CoC. MUMG. MUFT. Serenia. LB:TCB. MH, MH2. If you want to count them, HeliSim, Thexder and the christmas cards. Plenty of material, I would say, no?
Also, if you must, Zak McKracken. Hugo2, Hugo3. Indy3 (not sure, I've heard of a VGA version but have been unable to verify this).
For the record, I have heard of a Space Quest I remake using the Doom3 engine. Sounds pretty weird to me but they're doing it.

Well, KQ4, SQ2, SQ3, and Black Cauldron are all being remade. And PQ1 is already remade. I forgot about the LL games, though.

As for the others, I was only thinking of Sierra games. But I do know of a site that remade Hugo 1 but the creator shut him down because it's still being sold so he took it off his site. And LucasArts already made a Indy3 VGA version. I have it.

Speaking of the SQ1 remake in the Doom3 engine, I remember a long time ago I got my hands on an SQ1 Arcada custom level for Duke 3D. It was awesome. But stupid me deleted it. Anyone seen it?

MI -> Thanks for reminding me, I was actually only thinking of remakes with VGA graphics when I wrote that. Okay, so Black Cauldron and LL2 are already done and LL3 and SQ3 are still being worked on. I thought Kippesoep's SQ2 has long been abandoned?
PQ1, doh, of course Sierra has done that :) Ah, and Indy3V exists. Glad to know that.

Personally I don't think that using 3-d FPS engines for an adventure game is a good idea. It just has the wrong atmosphere for the genre.

Hm, it seems that Sierra made a lot more adventure games than Lucas. Then again Lucas also did things like X-Wing and other non-adventure thingies. Does anyone know what was the first Lucas VGA game? Was it MI2? Is that before or after KQ5 hit the shelves? I do believe they got into hi-res EGA first (with Indy3 before KQ4)...

Yeah, it was MI2 and it came out one year after KQ5

I'm not too sure about MI2 being LA's first VGA game. Indy3VGA uses SCUMM v3, while MI2 uses SCUMM v5. It would seem strange to use an older version of their engine for a newer game.

Actually, MI1VGA uses SCUMM v5 as well, so that may also have been out before MI2.
