how do you organise you sierra game folders?

#1 Post by arganite » Fri Dec 03, 2004 9:46 am

Do you name them by series , eg, kq1, kq2,
or do you name them, romancing the stones, quest for the throne

i recently went through my sierra folder and renamed them all to the game name.

I just leave them as they are e.g. C:\Sierra\Kq5 etc. etc.

There's no point in renaming. Unless your into that kind of thing in which case go you!! ;)

C:\Spil\Sierra\<default path>. "Spil" is Danish for games. so I naturally put everything in there.

Angelus, love the new avatar, though where you find the time for this sort of thing being a new bub in the house....  ;)

I organise mine into company, then series.

For example

C:\Games\Sierra\Kings Quest I AGI
                         Kings Quest I SCI
                         Kings Quest II
                         Kings Quest III
                         Leisure Suit Larry I AGI
                         Leisure Suit Larry I VGA
                         Non-Series - Codename ICEMAN
Non-Series - Jones in the Fastlane
                         Dynamix - Stellar 7
                         Dynamix - Nova 9
                         Dynamix - Willy Beamish
                         Dynamix - Betrayal at Krondor

seems like all of you just leave it as it is. Codename: iceman seems to be the only one expanded in full

I don't organise. My life is a mess. My computer is a reflection of that.  ;)

Those games were Tierra. I don't have an AGDI folder yet since they haven't released anything  :p .

I personally have mine organized into a tree as follows:

Heres an example:
C:\Classics\Sierra(game company)\KQ(game series)\KQ1(game)

Currently my Sierra collection is almost complete, I also am working on a Lucasart's collection, as well as all of Origin's Wing Commander series, and a handfull of other old Dos games I happen to have lying around.

Gav, what a lousy excuse for your laziness to change a foldername.

Naw...if the games were re-released and someone would STILL install them in the group/folder Tierra, now THAT would be the telltale of the true "principally-stuck-in-the-denial-stage" gamer.

When I lost my Entire PC, and when I re-downloaded, I named the folder "Tierra".  I had it named "AGDI", but like the next day, when cleaning out the hard drive, I went, "What the *explitive deleted* is THAT?"  Thus it got renamed back to Tierra so I know what the heck it is next time I go on a PC cleaning spree.  I don't do well with abbreviated stuff.  I speak in english words, not Initials...but that's just me!  :)

I have just about every Sierra adventure from between KQ1 (1980something) and 1998.  The only major ones I know I don't have are Gabriel Knight 2 and 3, and Phantasmorgia (or whatever).

What? People who didn't play Gabriel Knight 3 didn't really live. That was one of the nicest games I played ever.

Agreed, though the pendulum sequence at the end was rather annoying.
