When will QFG II Trial by Fire VGA + final be done?

#1 Post by Shalkar » Sun Dec 26, 2004 2:34 am

So, how about it guys. This project has been going on for app. 2 years. You guys are doing a wonderful job but the game wasn't finished by Christmas. Oh well I guess good games take time. So I ran an estimate and I think this game won't finished until "Janurary of 2010!"  ;) I don't mean that in a bad way but thats how I feel. Correct me if I am wrong.

Take it easy,
Shalkar!

It's done when it's done. Simple as that.

We do hope to finish it within the first half of 2005. This is why we avoided saying "it will be done by such-and-such a day." Yes, we hinted that we hoped to finish it by the end of 2004, but nothing ever stays 100% on schedule. Add to the fact that we're re-making these games for free, at no cost to you but at cost to us. You can trust that we are working very hard on this game and that the longer development time means that you will be getting a better game when it does release.

Ya, major emphasis on the "THE GAME IS FREE". They aren't making a profit, therefore they will put the time into when they can. Plus he has another point, that the longer it takes the better the quality of the game.

I admit, I'm anxious to play it. But the wait will TOTALLY be worth it. :)

This means you need to update one of the easteregg in KQ2VGA game where Quest for glory 2 is mentioned because it make no sense now.

I think they said they were finishing it and it would be ready by mid2005 when all beta testing has been done, so calm down guys... |I

Hi! I'm eagerly avaiting for this game. I would gladly buy it again if it was a commercial game and just want to say that I really appreciate the effort that you put in the earlier two games, I enjoyed them very much.

You might want to update the FAQ, it still says that: "It is currently slated for a late 2004 release, but this is subject to change."

Ofcourse I understand that a huge project like this takes a lot of time, and I'm sure the game will be great.

I meant to update the website today, including some FAQs and a designer journal, but personal matters delayed that. I'll make that update soon.

Fribbi, we aren't going to re-compile the entire KQ2 game and get all our hosts to update their files just because of that easter egg mention. If someone reads the easter egg and visits our website to find out more, they'll discover that the game isn't released yet.

Aye. Keep in mind the original QfG2 also had an advertisement which later turned out to be a glaring blunder. (That is, "Quest for Glory III: Shadows of Darkness") No one bothered updating the game, as most people with an IQ higher than that of a bananna were able to figure out what had happened...

Don't worry. It says Wages of War near the end now. That was one flaw we'd never consider keeping in. :)

You will be keeping the evil moon, right?

I'd change the whole sequence, personally.  The evil moon keeps the feel of QFGIV, where QFGIII had a totally different feel.  I'm interested to see how that all progresses in AGDI's version.

The moon is still there, because it's part of the desert scene the hero's seen in before the moon turns evil. The moon's change is just a different one. It's no longer going to turn into a vampiric face. We still kept the same music for that scene.

Come on, it won't take THAT long. I think it'll just take a few more months to finish and that's all. The project has been going in full strength ever since April/May 2003, it can't be more than two or three months from now... maybe less!

Just do what I do -- go on with life, and check up on the website twice a month or so. There are lots of things we can do in the meantime.

Till next time stay cool 8)

Welcome back Paladinlover!

Paladinlover sent me this question over email, so perhaps it's easiest to just post it here. Maybe Erpy could answer this one! I couldn't find the original post with this question in it, but I found many other Paladinlover question posts!
Also I want to ask this: remember years ago I suggested that you people create a second dance for Shema when she does it a second time? And you thought it was a good idea. Well, did you impliment it or did you cancel it?

I think the suggestion had faded away by the time it was time to implement that scene. :p The scene itself still needs some tweaking...it's rather tough timing the animation to the music by the second.

What exactly is your definition of a new dance, if I may ask? Creating a new dance from the existing motions (simply done in another order), or adding a new theme/animations?

There's already a strip act in the game. If we put in any more, we're probably not going to be allowed to release it. :p

Oh, right. Well, can you wear the X-ray glasses while looking at Shema dancing then?  |I

If I wanted to look at furry unmentionables, I'd go to the zoo.

Does anyone else find it odd that Spikey is the one suggesting these things? :lol

I was gonna say something about that but I couldn't find the wording  :lol  Bt made a good point in his joking manner though. The fact that you guys WOULD want to see furry unmentionables is a little odd and borders on a bestiality fetish. Btw people Yes that's right I'm not in the off topic forum for once. I was just wondering though after this game get's released what happens next? I think a lot of people will just stop coming here after the game is released because they will have gotten what they wanted. Also any word on making a QFG2 board early?
