Very well done. A few minor things, but not worth mentioning now. :) Great work!

Very nice. You might consider working on the grass a bit. :) Use the noise-tool at a very low setting, and then horizontal lines of dodge and burn. :)

Thanks for the comments/suggestions...

The grass was weak.  Here's an improvement.

I love it, just work on that grass a bit more and make the shadows seem less sharp.  ;)

GREAT WORK!

Nah, I don't think this thread is just dead; Me personally, I've been busy as hell with KQIII and Quest For Infamy stuff.  I'm sure others are busy too.... but I'm sure these will all be completed!

Like BT said, I think KQIII VGA and QFI is more important than a remake just to improve peoples skills.

I got to say all these backgrounds are amazing and I just can't find the words to tell you how much I like 'em. I could probably try to find 'em, but I'd pass the next week to write a long post where the words "Wow!" "fantastic!" "awesome!" "amazing!" "beautiful!" "kick a**!" would be repeated 20 or 30 times during the text.

But I noticed something in the crashing area and in the screen above this one.

ImageImage

If you look correctly at these backgrounds, they aren't made for a Sierra's VGA point and click kind of game. I know you already said there's no plan to remake the game, but these 2 backgrounds and also several others, aren't ready simply because I can't see myself moving a character in these screens 'cause the exits and the walk-area aren't obvious and easy to see. In the SQ2, it was common and easy to move Roger between the various objects in the screens, and several times, you discovered it was possible to walk between the bushes and reach some rooms this way. But I can hardly imagine myself controling Roger's moves everywhere to enter space between bushes, or worst, see him walk around the bushes like a robot. The first background will be easy to solve, adding a path between a bush and a tree should do the trick, but the second background will require more works.

ImageImage

Here, both screen are located in a canyon, but I think the picture on the left shouldn't so sunny and bright, it should be as dark as the picture on the right. And the 1st picture floor should be just a little bit more green, it should be as green as it is in the background of the second screen.

Princesse: And also keep in mind the background in Vohaul's fortress are kinda tricky to make. There's nearly 30 hallway screen and the only way to create so many backgrounds without drawing all of 'em is to draw an empty background, with the roof, floor and wall texture, and then, draw separately the different columns, doors, cell doors, wall designs, windows, elevators... everything that was static (read "don't require sprites") and once all of this is done, they got to copy/paste the differents object on the empty background, and recreate the 30 or so hallways screen. It's a lot of work.

Anyway, keep up the great work, these backgrounds are just amazing. :)

Read the first page. there is no remake.

I always feel like your posts are nagging every team that ever starts a project, daventry.

I can't say if the remake is still going on. But i found this link some time ago: (http://classicremakes.kicks-ass.net/). It was updated this year. But if you want no one can stop you from making another SQ2 remake.

After my last post I started on this background but I was a little busy. I now had the time to finish it.
I took Relight advice to make a scrollable background.
I left out the droids in the wall because they are NPC's (and because I can not draw characters  :cry ).
I cut the background in three pieces because I did not want to deform this threat.

So, just wondering if any of our wandering artists have worked on this at all any more?
