Disney Films

#1 Post by Broomie » Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:47 pm

You know, I haven't really seen a thread like this here before, so I thought I'd post one.

What is your favourite Disney film? From Aladdin to Snow White, which one is the best?

For me... it has to be without a doubt... The Lion King. I'm totally addicted to this film, I watch it like every day (as I make this post I'm watching it now)

I don't know what it does, but I love it! The music is magnificent, especially The Circle of Life.

So, what one do you prefer? Which one is a tear jerker for you? Or is the music you love most?

Well Finding Nemo was really good.. as was Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Ice Age, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bambi, Lion King etc etc lol I think each Disney Movie is special in its own way!

I'd have to go with... *thinks* probably Robin Hood, I remember watching that in Primary School!

I liked "Beauty and the Beast". I think it was because I had a soft spot for nerdy characters like Belle.

Well Brooms I have to agree, my fave Disney film has to be The Lion King!!!

"In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life,"

AND

"And can you feel the love tonight
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best"

You can't beat that ;) those songs in it are great!

I always cry when Mufasa dies, infact I've just watched it right now. And I've got a tear in my eye.

And Vamp, the songs are brilliant, one of my favourite things about it. I'd love to see the musical, I've heard it's great.

Anyone seen Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. Well I wanted to see it so I downloaded it (I wouldn't want to pay for a film which is apparently crap) Yet after watching it, it wasn't that bad. The songs in it are pretty good, especially My Lullaby and One of Us.

I won't go near Lion King 1 1/2: Hakuna Matata. I saw abit of it and... pure utter crap.

It's both, but Lion King 1 1/2 is the actual name.

...Toy Story, Ice Age, The Incredibles,...
Ice Age isn't Disney. It's 20th Century Fox.

My favourite animated Disney movie would be Aladdin. Second would be Robin Hood. And out of the 3D animated ones my favourite is The Incredibles and then Toy Story (1 and 2 are tied). Well, Finding Nemo is in there too somewhere in between 2 of those.

And I LOVED Lion Knig 1 1/2. Hilarious!

Disney movies are always great.

That explains why Ice Age didnt get as much attention!! I thought it was made by Pixar too!

Ice Age 2 looks cool though (get it, cool!)

Well Blue Sky's Ice Age and Robots are both great too!

I think Disney is Satan, and it's films are the anti-christ.  Well, recent ones, anyway.  Ole Walt actually had artistic plans and merit, but Eisner just made it about suckin' money and brain cells outta the youth.  I f#@kin' hate Disney.

Things like Brother Bear and Lilo & Stitch are the devil's work. But when you look at The Lion King, you can tell Walt Disney would be smiling up at them. I meant down at them.

I'm not a big fan of Disney. I could never get over how they bastardised perfectly good fairy tales and stories for many of their films. That said, I really enjoyed the two Fantasia movies and the animation in some of their latest pictures (like The Hunchback of Notre Dame) is amazing.

I used to really like most of the Disney films... Especially The Lion King, Aladdin and more recently, Finding Nemo. The music in the movies is actually my favorite part.
However, what they did to Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" for example is abhorrent...

Nothing.  They're PIXAR, which is only distributed by Disney.  PIXAR actually started out as a part of George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic (ILM).

It seems that a lot of us think The Lion King was the best.  I do too.  In fact, I have a large collection of Lion King merchandise.  I have the trilogy though the original was the best.  About The Lion King 1 1/2 there are a few discrpancies in the movies but overall it was pretty good.  The Lion King 2 was, in my opinon, the worst of the movies.  Simba raised Kiara to be a wimp!  And where's Nala?!  She has such a small role in the movie!  No way NALA would let her daughter be raised to be a wimp!

my all time favorite disney movie is "the computer that wore tennis shoes"
Next would defianatly have to be "the lion king" cause lions are sweet, and then i thought "the incredibles" were cool cause im all into comic books and super heros and tings of that nature.

Hate to be picky VampD3, but that's not the version in The Lion King.  The version in the Lion King goes:

"I can see what's happening
(What?!)
And they don't have a clue!
(Who?)
They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line: our trio's down to two!"
(Oh.)
The sweet caress of twilight, there's magic everywhere.
And in all this romantic atmosphere, disaster's in the air!

(Chorus)
Can you feel the love tonight, the peace the evening brings!
The world for once in perfect harmony with all it's living things!

Simba: So many things to tell her, but how to make her see... the truth about my past... IMPOSSIBLE!  She'd turn away from me!

Nala: He's holding back he's hiding but what I can't decide.  Why won't he
be the king I know he is, the king I see inside...

(Chorus)
Can you feel the love tonight, you needn't look too far.
Stealing through the night's unchertainties, love is where they are.

And if he falls in love tonight, it can be assumed...
His carefree days with us are history...
In short our pal is dooooomeeed!
(Crying)"

Actually, there were about 15 sets of lyrics for this song.  A couple variations were that Timon and Pumbaa sang it all:

"Can you feel the love tonight?  All the signs are there!
Pumbaa: A stary sky and tons of tenderness...
Timon: Disaster in the air!
(singing) And if he falls in love tonight, it can be assumed his carfree days with us are history in short our pal is dooomed."

Also Simba's solo went like this:
"I want to say I love her
But how can I explain
The truth about my past? Impossible!
Too many ghosts remain.
