Special KQ9 Announcement!

#1 Post by a_c_saunders » Sat Apr 30, 2005 11:42 pm

Hello there!

My name is Alex Saunders and I'm a PR Assistant with the Unofficial King's Quest IX Team. King's Quest IX: "Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining" is an unofficial fan-designed adventure game, based on Sierra On-Line's King's Quest series. It centres on the adventures of the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry, and combines memorable characters, often mind-bending puzzles, great storylines, and fun gameplay. Most of the puzzles and many of the characters are inspired by myth and folklore, making the games easy to enjoy for anyone who plays them.

On Sunday, May 15th, 2005 the King's Quest IX team will celebrate the KQ9.org's 3rd Anniversary by hosting a chat in the KQIX Chamber, our Java-based IRC chatroom.  From 4PM – 6PM EST (GMT -05:00) fans will get a chance to talk in realtime with members of the KQIX Development Team, including the directors, artists, musicians, and programmers!

The first hour of the chat will be reserved for questions from invited members of the press including:The Inventory, Game Informer, PC Gamer, Just Adventure, and more. Also during this chat, we will finally be announcing our game's release date and other exciting surprises.

To learn more about King's Quest IX: Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining, visit our site at: http://www.kq9.org/. We hope to see you all there!

Out of curiousity, does "release date" signify the release of the entire game or simply the first chapter?

Well, they were in Game Informer once, so I wouldn't doubt it.

I'm such an idiot, I was looking at a through adventure game sites and I suddenly remembered about the chat. I saw that the date was the 15th and my initial reaction was "Oh no... no no I'VE MISSED THE CHAT!" I went absolutely crazy, well sort of, not absolutely just annoyed.

Then I realized it was 1am of 15th May. So the bloody chat is tonight.

This is just a reminder to come, it sounds pretty damn exciting. The release date of KQ9. Woo!

It would also count as the fact it IS 1am and I'm bloody tired, good night.

I have to asl, is anyone going to be transcribing this chat?  I was planning on joining, but a family situation prevents me from doing so, so I don't have acess to a computer all day...

Takari's not the only one who'll miss it; I'm leaving for LA in four hours, so I probably won't be there either.  Pity.

Hey, I know a few people will be in LA for E3 (like the AGDs), but is anyone else going to the More Friends concert like me?

In any case, I'm outta here.  Barring a potential sign-on at a cafe or something, I'm gone for the week.  Later all!

Like I said on Fan Ventures, I'll record the whole thing from start to finish and post it on www.fanventures.com  ;)

Hello everyone,

I am very pleased to announce that Ken and (possibly) Roberta Williams will be attending the KQ9.org Birthday Chat! :rollin

For those unaware, Ken & Roberta Williams are the original creators of the King's Quest series and countless others.  :)

I knew I was going to ask questions, but I didn't know they'd see me as a VIP and allow me to ask the questions beforehand. I'd like to read the chatlog again, it was a very good chat. Pity I had to go aswell before the extra hour.
