Uhmmm... Takari. According to statistics a MUCH larger percentage of accidents (accidents that could have been prevented) were caused by sober people.   Same counts for assaults.

Now... I'm not saying it's better to be drunk, but blaming everything on people who loves to have a drink now-and-then ain't fair. We've all heard about or seen terrible accidents. Some of them were drunks. Some of them weren't. Those that were drunks shouldn't have been driving. They usually don't handle alcohol very well.

For example... many people are blaming Anime like Yugioh and Pokemon for violent kids. Do you feel that's fair?

My point is (like in a previous thread), you have a right to your own opinions, but don't try and force your ideals onto other people. I believe Americans call people with this behaviour Nazis.

I would guess that by the time most people have reached 30 years of age or so, pretty much everyone has experienced the destructive side of drinking and drugs.  I've seen friends and family ruin their lives.  I've watched a pregnant woman smoke crack cocaine, which is about as direct a way of ruining another's life that one could hope for.  I've had two very serious attempts made on my life.  I've had two friends lose their minds permanently due to LSD and my best friend commit suicide due to it's after effects.  I experienced three months of what can only be described as a living hell, a fully awake horror movie I could not escape from, due to the same substance myself.

It's just part of the whole human experience.  I'm sure if we existed in a world without any mind-altering substances that people would still find reasons to do all of the same crap.  I wouldn't try to convince anyone else that it's something they need to do, but unless someone had an obvious problem I wouldn't try to convince them not to.  Christ changed water into wine for goodness sakes!

I still drink, but only very rarely.  I've probably drank twice in the past 12 months.  If I do drink, I go for broke though.  I'm looking for a falling down the stairs, telling my friends I love them, throwing up on myself type of evening.  I just don't see the point of drinking otherwise.  And if that's what I want to do, and I'm not going to hurt anybody, and I'm not so self-conscious to worry about making a fool out of myself, than who's to say it's wrong?

Please restrain from misusing this word. Nazis were in Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945.

Thank you.

And -

If all of you jumped at Takari, telling her how wrong she is, it would not help you one bit. She would not listen. Give her a break. She heard the SAME THING from many people. Please. It gets annoying and, quite frankly, boring.

All I can say is, you're all lucky that my internet is down, cause if I was here when the fit hit the shan, I'd have written a long and garrulous response to this all.

I'll say this: I once gave up drinking and smoking, and it was the scariest ten minutes of my life.

But seriously folks, extremes are bad in any case.  Either being "staight edge" or a "burnout", it's the same thing, just different dogma.  People who cannot moderate their lust for human consumptions.  Responsibility and moderation is the key for anything.  If you don't like to smoke, don't do it.  If you do, don't burn an entire tobbacco forest in your lungs in an evening.  If you like to imbibe spirits, have a few drinks, do not empty the alcoholic equivalent of the Caspian Sea into your liver.   Preaching from either side of the coin is just absurd.

With that, I scoot back to my world without internet.  Missing you all.

:rollin oh man that goes in the archives of  The best of Bt. Fit hi t the shan lol I'm using that one. Seriously though people are people and nothing can change that. If you know of a person you must associate with through work or classes or whatever and they're real assholes please don't tell them to help them better themselves. I've tried and it doesn't work. same goes here people are people and you like theum or you don't. The moral is Can't we all just get along?

sheesh. i know this is the off topic sectoin of the forum. however we have gone off topic on this post. it was originally posted as a means of someone who needed some relaxation time to let us know that she went out the other night and had a great time. basically thats more or less end of story. the natzi comment is a reference to people who try to force others into their ideals. its a reference. we dont needs any dates as to when things happened. if i called someone a neanderthal it means they are a moron. i dont need a date as to when they lived. but the door swings both ways on the natzi thing since people who try to convince others that there is nothing wrong with drinking and that everyone should drink is the same as a person saying that no one should drink. each is entitled to their oppinion whether to drink or not.

Im glad you enjoyed your night vamp :)

Vamp:  You had a baby.  Therefore, you deserve to do whatever you want!  When I pop a baby outta MY BODY, I'll tell you what to do.  Untill then, hehe.......

Seriously, yeah..... Vamp, you deserve a good time.  You've put so much effort into carrying, birthing and raising Katy - we're all humans and we need to have fun and cut loose every once in a while.  I'm really glad you got out, and enjoyed yourself.

Our little moral debate is a sidewash, as Da_Elf put it, and we shouldn't hamper the fact that you had an awesome drunk post.  If this was a Sierra Game, you'd have earned 35 points.

Oh. I had nothing against the Nazis. Like I said... Americans love to use the word to 'insult' people.

It gets the point across, calling something a Nazi. Everyone knows what you're talking about.

Absolutely, Nazi is used as an insult to describe any kind of "militant or fascist" behavior.  The Nazis were a political party who become synonymous with atrocious and uncivil moral political conventions.   It has mocking undertones, and one way to take away from the power of such an entity is to use it in a mocking way.

Correct.  The word "Nazi" itself is actually a slang term for the German "National Socialist" party.  While World War II was raging on, the word "Nazi" was almost like a swear word for the political party and its' followers.

.... In terms of alcohol, the one that always gets me is Jagermeister.  That stuff is brutal.  But, I do enjoy it... just not the day after.   ;)

the only reason that this whole Nazi thing is sad is because I'm in high school and I could have told you all that information off hand and I failed history... sad isn't it? Speaking of that era though anyone wanna hear about Weapons of World War II? Oh god how similar they are to Americas military today! for example did you know the M1 Garand is just like an ultra crappy M16? They even both have RPG attachments and the Thompson (later reffered to as Tommy gun) was just a Squad Automatic Weapon (S.A.W) with a smaller clip? infact they had the same firing rate even if the SAW was belt fed and the Thompson was a 30 round clip. In 1947 however the Thompson was more commonly seen with the "new" Drum clip which held 100 rounds, Exactly half of a saws Standard box. The only thing from World War II to now that hasn't changed much at all is the F1 Fragmental grenade which changed in shape and weight (now that they aren't made of lead and are moer spherical) and nothing more. Other weapons from that era are still used just replaced by more effective killing machines. Bayonets are now Survival Knives, Mortar's are now RPG launchers, (more direct than the M16's 203 attachment or the Garand's grenade launching ability) and the Tommygun has just become the S.A.W. Infact even the squad layouts are the same just currently they are smaller and just a lot more of them.

That was off the top of my head as you can tell by terrible use of bracets. I just had a moment but it goes to show that History does repeat itself. Now for a relevant statement on this topic which couldn't have gone further off.

Vamp we've come to understand here that you did deserve a break and us on the forums should be a lot more understandable. We have also learned that some people here have dark pasts from dark substances. In conclusion we should show more respect and less flamage to the "I got Laid, I got Drunk" topics...speaking of those topics I did both last week go figure and you know what they say about the Ying and Yang theory? (For every positive outcome is a negative) I passed out in glass cutting my hands to ribbons and threw my wallet with all my ID and cash into a fire but I know I'll be drinking again one day (soon) I'll just remember to sew my pockets shut and hey just to show you all up I'll make a good drunk post, or atleast a hungover post  ;)

Thank you and Good Night
