XBOX is the most popular system in the US
PS2 is the most popular in Japan and Overall in the world
GCN is not as popular
So nintendo is at a bit of a disadvantage but I think that eventually, maybe not at first, that it will be the leading console. PS3 second and XBOX last.
(I own all three systems and enjoy them all so don't think I am some knid of fanboy)

I would say that I'm more in favour of Playstation cos I love PS1 and PS2 but I wouldnt say I was a fanboy as I can easily seen benefits to other consoles etc which a fan boy would be blind to lol I have a GBA SP and I love that too.
But I just cant see Revolution being top of the charts in the next console war, its gonna have some GREAT features like being able to download previous games etc but the common person out there is just gonna go for Xbox or PS3 because its cool.
Nintendo products are generally seen as kids stuff and average Joe Bloggs would rather get a PS3/Xbox that isnt gonna have Mario running around the screen when his mates come over for some beers.
PS3 and Xbox just have that kind of iconic "MTV" coolness about them, and for that reason I dont see Nintendo being top of the pops anytime soon, at least in the console war. They may beat Xbox 360 but I cant see Sony moving aside from the number 1 spot for them.
Sony has been at the top for 2 whole generations and the public knows this.
(Least thats what I think, but we'll see what happens ;))

Exactly my point lolWizard wrote:Like I said in the other thread, I have all three systems but I like GCN the most. That is why I bought the DS. Also, because it is cheaper ;)
But at school, all the "cool kids" have PSPs, so I am discriminated. LOL
I only know one kid in my school that has a DS.

I see what you mean
I don't think that REVOLUTION will win at lauch time.
I think they will slowly ease their way into 1st
PS3 then, think will be RIGHTa t its tail.
And XBOX (i refuse to use the loser name 360) lagging behind.
But I can't wait to see.
I will buy them all but I just think I am gonna enjoy NR more then the others, cause I love nintendo games.
I will probably only play XBOX when I have Halo 3 on it. LOL

Yea it would be cool to download and play Super Mario Bros 3 on the Revolution, but I could just play it on the PS3 with a Snes emulator same as I can with the PS2.
But I've no doubt Revolution will be something special, note they havnt released pics/details of the controller I bet its gonna be a weird one lol.
One thing I dont get is that all next gen consoles use Mac PowerPC based CPU's which is fine but Microsoft powering their Xbox with a Mac CPU!! Its just sounds funny!!

Survival of X
It's unlikely X-Box will disappear anytime soon, simply because Microsoft has the financial resources to absorb all the losses the system hands them. The original has not yet made to company any money, unlike both PS2 and GameCube.

Re: Survival of X
Bought Starfox: Assault and a yellow GC controller on import (yeah Nintendo Europe sucks), just so I continue playing. Anticipating the Twilight Princess as well of course.
Can anybody spell sunk cost?Brainiac wrote:It's unlikely X-Box will disappear anytime soon, simply because Microsoft has the financial resources to absorb all the losses the system hands them. The original has not yet made to company any money, unlike both PS2 and GameCube.

Yep, Megadrive and Snes are real classic consoles!Vildern wrote:*Vildern thoroughly reads the last 10 posts*
Sega's Mega Drive (aka Genesis) is the best console on this side of existence. Or, at least, it was :hat
I'm so glad they live on through emulation, there's so many brilliant games for both systems!

Me? Well take a lookie:
Shadow of Rome - PS2
Batman Begins - PS2
Samurai Western - PS2
LEGO: Star Wars - PS2
Yoshi's Island - GBA
LEGO: Star Wars - GBA
Not really playing anything on PC atm.
Apart from this
So, what are you playing? Be nice if you could link to the games like I did to IGN or any other gaming site.

I'm currently playing Bard's Tale on the PS2. Great game, and a great drinking song in the pub at the start. Totally loving the game.
As to the console war with the next generation of machines. PS3 will win. It just seems to me that many more games are available on the PS consoles. There's nothing wrong with the X-Box, but the game selection is not on the store shelf as compared to the PS2. Game Cube was a hunk of shit. Nintendo will have to impress me greatly to get me interested in the new machine.

Well Im currently replaying Half Life 1, opposing force, blue shift and Half Life 2. To be honest those are the only really good games I know of now a days to play. I plan to start the tomb raider series over I've bidded on all 7 titles and plan to start on one and work my way up like all games. ;)
BTW, The new coldplay album rocks! :smokin

I'm playing QFG over right now but I'm having trouble exporting from the first one.
I also tend to play through Max Payne 1 and 2 again because I just love the way it's written.
I am still playing Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty and I've decided to wait until Metal Gear Solid 3 Substance till I buy it. I feel I kind of missed out with SOL so the choice to wait has been made, also I didn't have the cash when Snake Eater came out and I've already played it a bunch.
Other than that though I've been playing Lemmings and Final Fantasy VI on my SNES.
My brother was wondering if the Revolution downloads will cost anything. Does anyone know?
