Hell, I was thinking about Broken Sword 2.5 and the other Runaway fangame, which if I recall correctly are projects approved by the original creators, Revolution and Pendulo respectively, those companies really know how to keep the fans happy in that sense, they realize that those kind of fangames are ok.

We could all e-mail VU about this... but a million letters will probably accomplish:

1) VU seeing there is still a big interest in KQ,
2) VU becoming even stricter on their copyrights because of (1), which would cause problems for AGDI as well,
3) VU creating a modern 3D-shooter KQ7 of their own.

or

1) DELETE junk mail.

Eh, I'm surprised, but even gamer.co.il posted about this:

Does anyone here other than Vildern understand Hebrew?  :(

I wish people like El Listo could shut up now especially when he mention other fans game here wich is still in danger.

It will make it so easy then for owner who got the copyright of the games to target them then. So please be quiet!

And to Vivendi spyes.

I am not afraid of you!

I believe his post said it got permission from the copyright owners.

This game is approved by Revolution, the creators of the Broken Sword series, read under the main page  http://www.brokensword25.com and you will see:

© 2000-2005 mindFactory. Broken Sword™ is a registered trademark of Revolution Software Limited. Used under license. All other trademarks, logos and copyrights are property of their respective owners.

The game is even commented in the Revolution official forums.

So please, get informed before posting and throwing arguments like "duh!", thanks.

P.S: And I have also checked about the Runaway one, and yes, the project is also supported by the game original creators.

Why can't VU & Lucas Arts be that kind. Because deep down Revolution was probably just like us.

I imagine those projects El_Listo is referring to asked for permission before they began (or very shortly after). If you take the initiative and ask them, you're more likely to be given permission, as you show a willingness to comply with the copyright holder's requirements.

So in others words KQ9 and other fan game creator did a big mistake when they did not ask for permission from the owners right?

And I must *cough* apolgize you about that mistake El_Listo I made. I didn't know about it that they are allowed to remake that game.  :o  My bad.

It depends on who you're asking. I don't think it would have made a difference in KQ9's case. KQ9 didn't have a very impressive start if I remember correctly and even VU knows that most fan projects die long before they're released.

I don't know if this has been brought up, but I would say send an email to comments@vugames.com and explain to them thier folley.

I may be a noob but I stick to this philosophy:

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

It's the 1000th time this link has been posted here. If you only bothered to read a page or two in this thread...

Meh, for some reason the white on light blue background is really hard to read... I'm looking into ways to get it changed client-side... :S

You can choose a different "theme" for the forum from your profile.

I sincerly believe in fangames. I'll write in the petition form because I think it is more "real" than email them :)

Didn't KQ get permission from Roberta and Ken Williams?

Well... I doubt it. Since Ken knows full well he sold all the rights (for KQ for a large amount of money), which means he has no say.
