plz help with shell door

hello to all onceagain im am stuck.... i'm stuck at the shell door and it won't let me pry the door open with my sword ... the messages i get are the sword is either too heavy or im not close enough to the door...any suggestions????????

Stand as close as you can to the shell door (actually touch it), and use your sword on it. If that doesn't immediately work, try using the swords on different parts of the shell (sides, corners, etc.)
