You know you played too much QFG when...

#1 Post by Zahmatra(n) » Mon Dec 04, 2006 6:56 pm

...you cast open spell to open the door of your house.
...you start talking to trees in the street.
...you go to Home Depot looking for "magic wood" for your stuff.
...you try to sell your grandfather's beard.
...you pick your nose to increase your lockpicking ability.
...you have a rat called Fenrus.
...you throw rocks to the air thinking that you might caught the Wind Element.
...you go climbing to other people's rooms looking for the black bird.
...your boss's name is Ferraris.
...you go on ebay looking for the x-ray glasses.
...you bother AGDI for the release date of QFG2VGA.

Have a good monday!!

dude, you totally made my Monday. I'm guilty on at least three counts (I miss Fenrus). I am the proud owner of magic wood!

I though it was Fenris. And it's Ferrari, not Ferraris

It was Fenrus in games 1 and 2. It was Fenris in game 5. I can't remember what it was in game 4, though.

Hey, here are some more for Today....

...you sleep in the park to have visions of Erana
...you kill an ant in the park and repeat to yourself "Ant dead, Ant dead, Ant dead..."
...you prefer Azziza as your wife
...somebody ask you "What is the meaning of life?" and you answer "69."
...you like to try stupid things to see what happens and later you try to restore from your last saved game.
...you like to pick fights. How do you expect to increase your parry abilities???
...you never trust a person whose name is Bruno.
...your Mom/Wife thinks that calling Avoozl means to phone a friend/workmate.

Please add more to have a pleasent Tuesday...

It's Fenris in game 4.

Zahmatra(n): it's Aziza, not Azziza.

Also, it's "Dead ant, Dead ant, Dead ant"

Here are some for Wednesday...

...you put some weird bells in your front door.
...you like to use the trigger spell with the Coke machines.
...you correct the spelling of the names from QFG
...you use the thief sign to go to the bars for free
...you played QFG in all languages
...you go walking "stealth" all day. How do you expect to raise that skill?
...you get a back pain for walking "stealth" all day
...you have to go to the doctor to correct your back for walking "stealth"
...you visited the creators of QFG (Mr. and Ms. Cole) and asked them what happened to the real black bird and why was so special?

Cheers...

Note: I originally played the spanish version of QFG3 and after the killin of the Ant it would say: "Hormiga Muerta" = "Ant Dead." Sorry for that mistake.

Adjective position

That's a translational issue, as in English, adjectives come before the noun, while they're after in Spanish.  "Hormiga muerta" is actually "Dead ant" in English.

The problem is, the translation to another language completely kills the true nature of the joke; the repetitive "dead ant" was supposed to be a send-up of the Pink Panther theme music.  Trying singing it and you'll understand (presuming you know the theme).

Thought I'd add a few...

...you check your local college for correspondance courses in adventuring
...you know the secret ingredient to good root beer.
...you always sign your name with a flourish.
...you wonder why your job doesn't have a guild hall.
...it's not a scratch on the wall, it's a THIEF MARK
...you try and sell flowers at the local pharmacy.
...you watch the movie "The Fifth Element" and wonder why there isn't more pizza.

Finally Friday....
and the last of the series...

...your doctor's name is Dr. Cranium.
...you don't remember who was the third president of your country, but you still manage to remember the name of the third Wizard in the WITTS challenge.
...you don't need an oven to cook your food. A little of your flame spell will do.
...you don't need a freezer. Your frost bite spell will take care of it.
...the FBI hired you to test bombs with your trigger spell.
...you like to write this type of post.

Have a wonderful weekend

I haven't played QFG in many, many months. But still, I hope that some time soon, I'll get to playing them again.

Right now I'm just living a rut and my brain is starting to rot due to inactivity.  |I

Till next time stay cool  :smokin

When you've been playing for so long, you can't figure out why hitting "Rest for one hour" isn't working... but you keep trying and trying... hoping some skill will go up...

it changes throughout the series. You know you've played to much QFG when not only do you frequent forums where it was discussed and not only was the last game released when you were 7 years old but your online name is Quest For Glory Fan and your post count is almost 1500.
