Walking towards Raseir

#1 Post by MacGyver » Fri Aug 03, 2007 2:01 pm

After all these years, I just found out that it's possible to walk to Raseir from Shapeir without a caravan. So I wonder, will this be the same in the remake?

I believe their answer was a definitive "yes"

It is  fable,

Trial works with you in quelling the elementals.

There is no way you can "walk" to Raseir.

I have seen it done, but why would you cheat on an already easy game?

Try QFG2 as a Wizard, from the start.

Curiosity...that's all...and it makes the game more real coz if you can reach there by caravan, you should be able to go there by yourself.

Even if you could, it would be useless.

You need certain items from Shapeir you can only get prior to being sent off in the caravan to Raseir.

Please, do yourself a favor, and don't waste your time.
I tried this many times when I was a kid, even before I heard the myth.

These games are meant to be played without loopholes. The QFG series was the one true Sierra RPG/Adventure.
The creators of QFG2 meant for you to sit in Shapeir and defeat the water elemental in the end. I think it would be easier to give yourself inventory with Blue frog and teleport to Rasier.

The ability to walk to Rasier is intentional.  They specifically programmed that into the game.  They'd have no reason to go through all that effort if they didn't want people to actually do it (for fun, not while trying to win the game).  When you arrive in Rasier, you're turned back since you don't have a Visa.

The unforeseen consequence of implementing that, though, is that it goes both ways.  You can walk from Rasier to Shapeir.  That causes the game to really get confused, since they hadn't considered that possibility.

Well, its true then.

Thanks man.

How long does it take? And what direction?

East or West? North and south are only mountain.

What if I gave myself a visa via Blue Frog? What then?

If I remember correctly, if you simply keep going west, you'll eventually get to Raseir.  As for getting a visa with Suck Blue Frog, you'll get let into the city, but nothing will happen until day 27 when stuff is scripted to happen.  That's my guess, don't know if it's true or not.

look what are doing to your fans here!

Years ago, at a mall, I ran into some poor kids who played QFG5 for their first time. Now they are resorting to XBOX amd NINTENDO DS as we speak!

Action must be taken now.

There is "a way" to get there, but why waste a great gaming experience on a cheat code.

If you people love the games so much, untite. IA could possibly Mergre with ADGI, right? Double the money, triple the profits. Start low, a fan game here, a game there. But you would start to start asking five dollars for every download. Of course game manuals would be included, and if thing looked great, start wiith some boxed versions.

I have had this ultimate adventure game in my head since te close of the original QFG4 and KQ6. :hat

You mean we could have been making money off of these remakes all these years? Wow, you're right, I can't believe we never thought of this before. Somebody put this man on our board of advisors!

But seriously... *cough* *cough* www.himalayastudios.com *cough*

You know that Spiderman is really Peter Parker, Superman is Clark Kent, and Bruce Wayne is Batman, don't you? Because that superhero analogy applies to AGDI as well.

I think I have a walking to Rasier thread here somewhere, too.

The same question comes up every six or so months here.
