yeah I know about the hunger thing. It was fine when I had a slower computer but I've played qfg3 on a fast processor for a game in 1991-92. You couldn't got more than five steps on the savanna map before the waffle pop up again. I do prefer the not dying from not eating but it got down right annoying. A few Sierra games had problems like this. Ex: Skate-o-rama in Space Quest IV, with the Sequel Police.[/code]

Well, that's why you use DOSBox with those games, so you don't have those problems, heh. If it wasn't for the waffle walker, you'd take five steps then die of starvation.

Just remembered that issue 19 of The Inventory (a no longer updated monthly e-zine) posted a generous amount of screenshots from QFG2VGA with a review. Unfortunatly the download links on the website 'http://www.the-inventory.org/' doesn't work, there is however a message saying '!!! ISSUES WILL BE UPLOADED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS PLEASE BARE WITH US TILL THEN !!!', I have a feeling this message has been there for some time tho.

The issue is well over 2 years old now, so the screenshots will be extremelly outdated. Nethertheless, for the sake of interest you can try and download the issue. If anyone does eventually get a hold of the issue i'll add the link to my first post.

Good luck  ;) .

Ah yes dosbox and there a couple of drivers that allow you to play the games smoothy. I know about them. I think they're link is posted on this messageboard. It's just hard to forget that haunting stalker following me on high speed before DosBox and the drivers came out. That and the music when the waffle comes.

I wouldn't mind seeing another new screen shot if AGDI could make one. If not it's no big deal, it gotta be strenuous enough for them with everything they're doing right now.

Well, it's in French but you can find it on pages 6-9

And here's a single screenshot from an earlier issue (page 24)

Nice.  Good find.  QFG2 screenshots look fantastic, even if they might be outdated.  As an aside, I wonder whatever happened to that Sam & Max game that was underway (check the second link in smvp's post.)  Anybody know anything about that?

That particular one got canceled, so Steve Purcell took the rights over to Telltale and they made the ones that are out now.

I've seen those games or what ever they are. Never got a chance to try them. Are they Adventure Games and if they are are they anything like S&M hit the road?

If you have Steam (http://www.steampowered.com) you can download episode 4 of season 1 free. IMO the best game from Season 1, so it's worth grabbing if you wanna try out the new series.

EDIT: Just checked and episode 4 is no longer being offered for free :(, sorry. You can try the demo's of each ep thru Steam tho.

They're all adventure games, and they do indeed rock. Many of the people who work at Telltale worked at LucasArts back during their adventure heyday.

I know this is mild thread necromancy, but hey — it's better than starting a new one.  :hat A few things:

One, the new graphics look fantastic. They're completely true to the series and remind me of QFG3, only even better and more colorful. I especially like the Hero's Arabian garb, and the scene with the glowing green river thing (haven't played the original game yet, so I dunno what it is exactly).

Two, are the people on that site where the pics are hosted insane? They've rated those screen shots as two or three stars out of five. Being a longtime 2D adventure gamer myself, I know excellent graphics when I see them, and those definitely qualify.
