First game Conquests of Camelot Remake *fixed*
I've attempted this a few times to help me learn the program and I thought I'd share a couple of my latest attempts pics.
I would rather a fresh 3D model of Arthur to work with but this is what I have at the moment.

I have same kind of opinion of the pictures. Somehow it looks like the artist hasn't actually drawn any new graphics, but instead just blurred the original EGA pictures. Generally I believe that if you really want to remake EGA backgrounds to VGA, you actually have to redraw them (or possible borrow textures and objects from other Sierra games like was done with KQ1VGA). The blurring is not a good shortcut to make an excellent remake.pass wrote:I see them...
IMHO, the remakes seem a little blurry. This might be intentional, but when I first looked at the title page, I thought these were two versions you made, and liked better the left one. Only then did I realize that the left one is the original... :p

Blurring
Yeah, I'm not happy with the level of blur either. The larger sized pics seem less blurred but overall I layered and beveled the original pics. I'll have to install Photoshop and figure out how to texture.
The biggest dilema I have is the want to keep the original feel with a bit of an updated look. Though I also have also experimented with a photo realistic version. I'll have to see if I can find any pieces of that version around.

Title images redone. See first post in this topic.
I redid the images today in a more realistic way though I need to readjust setting it keep it in the VGA realm. But this is my attempt at using my own work though the grail is not mine. Did some work on the 3rd pic but still have much more to do.

3rd pic redone
Using a historical picture and blending it into the scene here is what I have come up with. Now I have to figure out what to do about getting AGS working. I'm running Vista64 and it doesn't like the 64-bit .NET framework (Using 3.0 beta 15)
You can easily go in and straighten those blurry images up, you really should. It's not a lot of work, it would take me five minutes I'm sure.
What bothers me the most is the inconsistent size of each background?
320x240
320x214
253x240
320x165
Not one the same size? Not a huge deal I guess but it just seemed strange to me. Furthermore, don't use jpgs, use png or even gif.

Good question
I have tried off and on to learn AGS but it is more complex than I have time to figure out. The pictures are as far as I have gotten. Though I don't mind creating them I am no artist and simply mix match content to suit my own purposes. This project will go no where unless I part of a group rather than spearheading.
I will try to do a few more pics and standardize sizes.

I think that looks GREAT! I really can't wait to see the remake when it's done. I am playing the original now, and would be overjoyed to play a remade version. I have played all the other remakes you all have done and they are wonderful. PLEASE do this project, it will be greatly appreciated by the entire adventure gaming community.

I, unfortunately, lost all my source files and have not had the time to start over. Maybe someone will manage to get this one remade. I would also love to see it happen.electroflesh79 wrote:I think that looks GREAT! I really can't wait to see the remake when it's done.
