We haven't remade QFG1 because that game has already been remade by Sierra. You will have to purchase the game yourself as we don't have it for download here.

where can we buy the QFG Collection then? With Dosbox these games should run well.

I wrote a e-mail to Sierra asking if they could re-release a Quest for Glory Collection like they did for Kings Quest, Space Quest, Lesiure suit Larry and Police Quest....Didnt get a reply....I mean, they're missing the most popular series of them all. a collection with all 5 QFG games would be neat.

My QFG5 CD's are slowly wearing out and Making backups didnt work...so I'll need a new copy sometime.

Try looking on eBay. You should find some there.

Have you tried ISOBuster Shaminar? It's recovered everything that I've thrown at it, they have a full trial available for download.

They're not ever going to release a collection of Quest For Glory because they don't want to spend the money in making the collection more than one CD. And QFG, unlike the LSL collection, is one collection that needs all its games in a collection and they know that.

You could try reading your CD with a CD Writer instead of CD ROM Drive or even DVD Writer. For some reason, I find CD Writers work better than DVD Writers for CDs.

There's already an anthology for QFG that covers 1-4. QFG 5 itself is on 2 CDs, so there's really no point bundling 1+2 CDs as 3 CDs and repackage it, I presume.

There's these crazy little things called DVDs we have nowadays. Pretty much everyone has a DVD drive on their computer, and if they don't, even a DVD burner is dirt cheap to buy. Funny thing is, they can hold the data from multiple CDs on one disc of exactly the same size...

It costs more :). Also they probably don't want to figure out how they're going to make QFG5 Vista compatible, let alone XP compatible.

Well, there's an unofficial patch that modifies the exe to run on XP. (and I've heard tell it works on Vista as well) So I'd say making QFG5 compatible with NT-based OSses wouldn't be too difficult.

I actually don't have a working copy of 5 anymore which is sad because it was the first one I beat. I remember I had it working in XP until I tried to take the hydra without Elsa and the torching caused the game to crash.

For the original series, I just ran the game through Dos Box and never had any issues.  For DQ5, I simply set it into compatibility mode and it ran without a hitch.

I remember my sister stepping on my collection CD a few years ago after she knocked over one of my shelves, I was rather upset.  I still have a backup ISO, an empty red box and the instructions sitting there waiting for me to find a new copy of the game.
