We installed some robots where I work a little over a year ago. I've been learning about them and how to work on them, etc since then. Al Lowe sent this link out in one of his daily emails and it interested me. I thought you all might think it was interesting as well.

I watched the youtube video.  That is pretty impressive, the balance and recovery that BigDog has is amazing compared to other robot prototypes I've seen.  Thanks for sharing!

That was really awesome. I'm really amazed how it didn't even fall over once! When that guy kicked it I just thought the way it retained its balance and carried on walking was incredible.

Very impressive! Ok, must say, if the legs were more naturally shaped, the project would be quite a bit easier.

Wow. That looks freaky. I actually felt bad for the thing when that guy tried to kick it over.

I wonder what would happen if you threw a grenade at it...

Hehe. :)

Speaking of... I think I saw an ad in the recent comics about a Terminator series?? Did it start showing over there?

PS: I think we already passed both Judgement Day dates from the movies.  :p

It's about half through the first season now. It's a good show, although certain aspects of it piss me off. I hate alternate time-lines for example.

Thought they would start with a series. T3 gave the impression that they've tried to create open-ends to allow for a series or two.

Hmmm... the girl on the ad for the T-series looks pretty much like that 'River' girl from Firefly/Serenity. Am I right?

The series is halfway through in the UK but I've already seen all the episodes from US tv, really like this show but then I knew I would as I love the movies!!

There is also a trilogy of new Terminator films coming out and Christian Bale (Batman Begins) is playing John Connor and the film is set in 2019 in the future war.

Very impressive from both a physical and computational perspective.  Just one question...is the robot Asenion-compliant? :p
