Now whats so sad about that, hmm? A hobby among all others. Hell, my older brother introduced me to Police Quest 1 and the likes before I was even in school and I've been a gamer ever since.

And no, I didn't understand a damn about them but it was fun none the less. Learned quite a bit of english too thanks to them.

The whole idea of the Off Topic forum is to talk about anything without breaking the rules, why do we need a thread about it?

Also many of us have been playing games since we were 5 or 6 if not younger and still play. There's nothing wrong with that.

True other might have played since they where 5 - 6 year old or younger.
But i was only saying for me it was sad because i wished that i learned something with my life instead of waisting it.

I did not know what to name it so i just through one up so please don't pick on it please.

I wanted to know what other games played thats why I told what i played
sorry if i offended anyone don't mean too I'm still new to talking to people over the forums.

So please be nice thank you.

Nobody's being mean. First rule about posting in a forum is not to take anything too personally because they might not even be saying things in mean ways. We're just saying there's already a place to talk about random things. So unless you have a specific topic you'd like to converse about, it should be in the Random Rants thread.

This thread has kinda of evolved into it's own topic so I'll leave it lol.

And as others have said I wasn't picking on you, just merely stating common sense. Rather than post a thread to talk about anything it would be far better to create a thread about what YOU want to talk about so other people can join in and discuss.

Anyways, what do you mean you've wasted you life? Unless you've played games 24/7 since you were 13 then I don't see how you've wasted it.

Playing games can help with all kinds of things like hand eye coordination, spelling, grammer, present social and emotional situations that can help you understand things that are going on in your life, not to mention alot of games like God of War for example are based heavily on certain subjects like greek mythos so without realising it you've learned quite a bit about that subject.

People have even learned Japanese and other such languages just from playing their favourite game and wanting to translate it into English etc.

Don't get me started on that, Ang; I could rant for a week.

*sigh*  Games are meant to be time wasters.  It only becomes a problem if you start forsaking stuff that's important to you for games.  School, work, or even your health suffering are an indication that you should cut back.

Also, *tapes Brainiac's mouth shut* no talky for you.  ^_^

Fallout 2 teaches you how to run a nuclear power plant, it's educational!

Just from what I've described of the God of War series to my friend I know how much it walks over Greek mythology.

Funny, cause there's an old Dos game called "Oakhurst(or something) Nuclear power plant" that does exactly that.

You have NO idea.  Though if the information of the revelations from the end of GoW2 and the upcoming events of GoW3 are true, they did incorporate one classic point of the "destiny" of the ancient myths.
