I noticed in one of the text in the picture with numbers 1808. I wonder if it is a hint that the game will come out on Monday August 18. just go to page 2 and recheck one of the pictures.

Although I'm no cryptology expert, that would be referring to ?/18/2008 rather than 18/08/08 as the month section of the date is covered making the former more likely. And they're in America too, where they decide the month should come before the day. Silly people, indeed.

And the art is fantastic, Eriq! As Rich would say, I'm so excited!!

having lurched on and off in the forums (not that I ever registered :P) since.. god.. who knows how long it's been now... I've been refreshing this site now a few times every day for the last couple of weeks and like everyone else I'm getting rather excited at the thought at playing a new version of QFG2. Excited enough to finaly register.

I started playing Hero's Quest with a friend of mine in norway when we were kids (on a 286 or 386 with a 3 button mouse no less), but had a certain amount of trouble with the language, not to mention that disk 4 had an error on it.. which meant that I only got to visit certain screens years later when I bought the compilation cd. Actually, I was really pleased when I played a game called Quest for Glory 4, then found the prequel QFG3, and then realised that this was a continuation of the game that I had loved so much when I was a kid.

Excited is a too mild a word :D

Btw, Eriq, I notice that you're using your stylus pen directly on your screen. Is there some sort of Technology leap with mac's that I should know about? I feel very jaelous here with my Wacom tablet :o(

He might be using a Wacom Cintiq, which integrated an LCD screen right onto the touchpad.

So the Vivendi guys did say Ok from their side to this project or we are still waiting for a feedback from them..

Just saw the latest designer journal entry on the AGDI main site. Nice to know things are moving ahead quite steadily now and there might be a release month soon :)

Actually considering that QFG 2 VGA has been 8 years in the making and is quite well known and popular now, you guys should try break some download records on the release day or something like Firefox 3 did. Come to think of it, I don't know if Firefox did break any records or not. I had downloaded Firefox 3 on the release day atleast I think but uninstalled it a week later or so as i didn't like it much.

Yes that is a good idea, to try to get the max # of downloads possible in the first week or so!

oh and firefox did break a record.. it had over 8 million downloads in the first 24 hours and i am loving it so far!!

And here's another newbie who has been lurking for years and now finally registers at the eleventh hour. :)

Just a message to express gratitude for the lovely AGDI peoples for their tireless work - various folk all over the world are getting more and more excited about this project! Despite being a big QfG fan, I only played the second one the once (never really clicked with the text thingumie, I've got to say), and that was nearly a decade and a half ago. So this is going to be as close to playing a new QfG as I'll ever get. Very excited and grateful!

auuuugghhhhhh RC COLA? But that's Coca Cola's semi-retarded friend! You know he's there just so you can see how sensitive and caring coca cola can be by having a semi-retarded friend. And then coca cola starts dating RC cola's sister who sees that coca cola is a good guy inside even though earlier there was a situation where coca cola kinda seemed like a jerk to her.

Anyone that wants to write that into a movie you have my permission.

You asked for it. From now on, every other performance at the Katta's Tail Inn will be by Rick Astley.

Hey Guys, you don't know me but I know you :: cue creepy stalker music ::
I've been lurking with varying consistency for about four years now but never really registered. I figured you didn't need another nosy newb floating around bugging about release dates but I couldn't resist at the news of a fan art contest.
Which brings me to my point; would the contest be open to anyone on the forum or just regulars? I'd totally understand if it was just for the most loyal of fanbase but if not I plan to subject you guys to my terrible excuse for art!
BWAHAHAHA...Ha...I mean....umm...
Look over there!
