QFG2 Updates

#1 Post by eriqchang » Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:55 pm

Hungry Quest for Glory Fans,

I wanted to give you an update on progress here at ground zero. We are working feverishly to design, code, and test the remaining pages on the Quest for Glory II website. Most of us have been up for nearly 3 days.

While we cannot give you an EXACT time of release, we can tell you the game will be released sometime late this evening, Pacific Standard Time. You need not "refresh" your browser madly. ;) Once AGD2 and I decide we're ready, we will push the site live and, of course, announce the release on the board so that you will not miss it.

I cannot stress how important it is for you CORE fans to purchase a Collector's Edition of Al Emmo NOW if you want to snag one of these ridiculously gorgeous Quest for Glory II posters. Once we shoot the release newsletter to the world, the AGDI site will be bombarded by 'everyone else.' - so show your love now! You will not be disappointed - when we say "Limited Edition Collectible", we mean it. A lot of love has been put into the production.

And now, because you KNOW how much I LOVE to torture you... here is one last Quest for Glory II teaser.

Now don't worry yourselves... you don't want to break out! Just sit in a circle and be happy. It's almost here. Kumbaya,
- eriq

Hope for me it gets released in the next 9 hours or I will only be able to get it the next night (ISP allows free unlimited download only between 12-8 night here).

I'll admit, I tried clicking on the download button as well. It was a move of desperation.

What a beautiful day!

More coffee, anyone?

AHHHHHHH. I bet most of you played through qfg2 before. Unlike most of you I have not!!! I played the original when I was around 10 years old and I got frustrated with it and skipped from 1 to 3 and 4. I have been waiting unit this game to come out to play all the way through 1-5. So so excited. I can honestly say I have never been more excited about the release of a game before.

You guys rock.

Hey,

I just bought a copy of Al Emmo collector's edition, and I have played the demo a while back, but this package with Quest for Glory II poster and other collector's stuff...is awesome.

This is my way of saying thanks to you guys for all the hard work for KQ1, and KQ2+ (which till date is my fav adventure game, agd's version).

I am really looking forward to play Quest for Glory II and Al Emmo :)

Thanks,

advgamer

Damn.. don't have access to the net past 7 EST, so I won't be getting ol QfG tonight. :( I suppose I can wait another day, it won't hurt, but I'm so excited!

Indeed it has been. I wasn't sure you'd remember me, but I figured I'd use my old name for the sake of tradition.

Al Emmo & QFG2 remake

#21 Post by cable » Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:22 pm

Finally decided to signup just so I could post this message. :)

I really must congratulate everyone involved in the remake and especially in the handling of the release. The quality of pre-launch site i.e. the landing page and six lessons has been brilliant. It has been very professional and I would argue that the attention to detail has been more than a match for big commercial games. It really got me excited and after putting off buying Al Emmo I finally decided to do it. I live in South Africa so when something has to get shipped to me I always think more than twice about it. We are one of the two countries in Africa Amazon won't ship to anymore other than via courier. I recently purchased a $25.00 book from amazon and paid $40.00 for shipping :(. In future if possible could you make other commercial games available as downloads? I would defintely be more inclined to buy that way.

But I really wanted to give something back because I feel the effort that has gone into this warrants some reward however small - $19.99 is really not much in the way of thanks and I get a game and a poster seemingly for nothing. I realise that cash and sales figures are better than anything else but maybe the main team could come up with a joint amazon wish list and publish it we could then send you something to say thanks. If this suggestion has already been put forward apologies.

Andrew

I've been lurking here for years, so needless to say I'm super excited for the imminent release. In an uncharacteristic show of solidarity, I bought Al Emmo last week solely because I admire what you guys do and want to support that. Congratulations on a job well done!

Yeah the only thing I'm sad about as that I already own Al EMmo/music cd/ etc and the only way I could get the poster is to.... buy it again..? :(

The game couldn't be released at a better time for me, tomorrow is a national holiday here (Independence Day). I've got my rice crackers ready and I'm about to start brewing some coffee, I'll be up all night playing it.

EDIT: Sartori! Go fix your BTR at GTZ!
