Technical Issue 3

#1 Post by Madbox » Mon Aug 25, 2008 11:47 am

ISSUE 3: HOW DO I IMPORT MY QUEST FOR GLORY I SAVED CHARACTER INTO THE REMAKE?
To import your Quest for Glory I character, you will first need to copy the .sav file into the Quest for Glory II remake directory on your hard drive. When you click the Import button from the Quest for Glory II title screen, a list of .sav files located in the game directory will be displayed for you to choose from. You may select the one that you wish to import into Trial by Fire.

Well did that, and no *.sav file appeared in the game :(

I got it to work, I copied my qfg1fighter.sav file to the QFG2VGA folder and then restarted the game and went to import and I could choose from the different .sav files i had in the directory, i didn't even have to search through all the files, it filters the .sav files, nice touch... 8o

Are you sure it's copied to the right folder? And are you clicking the import button, rather than the start new character button?

Its extention IS .sav, right? Is it possible you exported it without a file extention?

Can you send the .sav file to me in a PM as an attachment so that I can check it? Even if it's not a valid .sav file, if it bears the .sav extension it should still show up in the Import GUI. If you can't see it listed, you mustn't have it in the right place.

Are you sure you copied it into the GAME's root directory e.g c:\program files\QFG2VGA\
