Entering the WIT
I can't seem to find anything about this out there: When they ask me why I came to the WIT, I try learning, knowledge ,magic, and so on, but they always kick me out. I don't remember this from my first play through so many years ago. Also, thanks so much for making this amazing game!

Re: Entering the WIT
I'm pretty sure I just said "Magic"
Re: Entering the WIT
To be a wizard.
Speaking of WIT, has anyone tried the black portrait?
Brilliant

Re: Entering the WIT
Wait, what? I tried it but they refused to let me!
Re: Entering the WIT
They asked me if I really wanted too, and I clicked yes. Then you end up in the swamp. Would have been funnier if you had died by a Error 52 bug or something, but oh well.Spanky wrote:Wait, what? I tried it but they refused to let me!

Re: Entering the WIT
Two differences on entering WIT versus the original:
In the original, I could cast open on the blank wall without casting detect magic. This made sense for people who had to enter multiple times by virtue of failing one of the tests, I guess.
In the original, I always responded, "I seek to be a Wizard!" This got me booted in Qg2Vga, so I tried again simply with, "magic."
I ADORE the trip to Mordavia. Awesome stuff. I'm calling the two differences above trivial, and the deliberate difference a touch of very savvy game design.

Re: Entering the WIT
I am a Thief with magical abilities. When I found the WIT the first time, they asked me the question: "Why are you here?" and I just said something stupid and got it wrong. Now, every time I go in, they ask an Aziza question: "What is the element most appropriate to the Magic Shop owner?" I answer "Air" and they summarily kick me out. I also got "Who are you that knocks upon my door?"
So, I decided to answer with "I want to be a wizard" and that seems to work. Just thought I would report this.

Re: Entering the WIT
Interesting. Do you have a savegame prior to entering WIT where that happens? (i.e: the wrong question being asked)

Re: Entering the WIT
I had the same thing happen to me with the What element is most appropriate to the magic shop owner and I am a straight up magic user. Erpy, I will email you with a savegame attachment right before it.
