at least tell them to go to aziza first and ask her about keapon and his magic game and then she'll tell you to go ask keapon about it...Morningstar wrote:Step 1) Buy Force Bolt

you don't need to ask Aziza about it

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
I'm stuck in Erasmus' maze actually I can't figure out where to direct the third spell but I know the answer is obvious. Can someone give me a hint without flat out telling me?
Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
The third spell should be on the object you just manipulated.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
omg I was so hoping for an "erpy-esque" hint! but I've tried that already going from Erasmus' hint before you enter. I'm starting as a Thief with Magic skills from the first game with the 8 available spells. Is it possible I've not gotten the required spell yet or am I just clicking wrong?
Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
You're just clicking wrong. Either you have started with the right spell or you can buy it in Keapon's shop. You probably started with it.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
But the second spell I cast was Detect magic, have I done this in the wrong order then?
Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
What was the first spell then? The second spell is not meant to be Detect.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
ok I just figured it out. I just cast fetch on any bell and it went onto the pole so then I cast detect and that bell (regardless of being the wrong one) shimmered. So I cast Trigger and it tells me it's the wrong spell and gives me the boot so I kept restoring trying Trigger everywhere. I tried again right after my last post and detected the bell, fetched it then hit trigger and I passed.

There's a wizard's game?!?! Rats! I knew I should have started with a Mage. Now I'm stuck with rope crossing challenge that's gotten 10 times more difficult than the EGA version. Curse you Agi the Agile, curse you!Morningstar wrote:Step 1) Buy Force Bolt

Edit: Fixed typo.
Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
Just avoid relying on the "hold position"-option too often. If you use it more often than like, every 7 steps, you'll fall. Learn how to correct tilting by leaning the opposite way. I personally prefer using the keyboard to ropewalk.
There's a tougher ropewalk near the end of the game, ya know.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
I failed miserably on the rope walk to the point of fying but once I got the hang of it I only used the hold button once. Also strangely I found picking my nose to be a good way of raising my agility.
Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
I had a lot of difficulty with the rope this time, so I spent a lot of time that day just increasing my agility. I then beat it without any difficulty. Stats really help on that one.

Thanks for the hints. I actually figured on my own after 40-50 retries.Erpy wrote:Just avoid relying on the "hold position"-option too often. The tightrope was easy. At least with 200 agility. I made it across without having to adjust (From memory) on the last time I did it. Just have to keep moving.

Yeah, Keapon's Challenge is fairly tough at first, you just have to get used to it. I don't know if anyone else already got it and mentioned it, just in case I won't spoil it for anyone, but beat him twice and you'll get a gift.
Tried doing the tight rope with a mage character with decent agility and ouch, it's way harder than before (or maybe I was a better player 10 years ago). I also don't remember the "hold position" option making your fall on the original...

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
I found using the grid really helped, and slowing the speed down.
After I cast detect magic and discovered which ones were targetable, I'd simply rotate the prisms such that I could follow the path back to the right side.
It stopped being a game of chance and one of strategy.
I think the two things that aren't obvious at first is that you can rotate the prisms (and also set them back to default) and put the grid down to see the paths of diagonal travel.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
So... after trying again and again and again; anyone have any hints on how the holy hell this Laffin' Force Bolt game actually works? The introduction instructions and the grid seem completely meaningless when compared to the game in action. I am sure I am missing some key concept of game play that would allow me to actually play it and maybe even win! Any ideas?
Maybe a diagram or something >_< None of this makes any sense strategically.

Re: Thought Erasmus' Maze was hard? Try Keapon Laffin's game
It does, when you get the hang of it. Cast detect magic to see what clouds can be hit, lay down the grid so you can trace the path of the bolt, and go from there . You end up with a fan, so its worth it :PAtypicalChuck wrote:So... after trying again and again and again; anyone have any hints on how the holy hell this Laffin' Force Bolt game actually works? The green line of the arrow on the prisms indicates the starting direction of the bolt, the red part indicates the direction it'll bounce off to. Together they indicate the angle at which the bolt will be reflected. Casting trigger causes a prism to change through 6 different angles. (the arrow kinda rotates clockwise)
Use the rotate tool to see where a bolt would go if it'd hit a prism from any other side than the eastern direction. There's always one open spot in the grid. Using fetch on a prism causes that prism to move to the open spot, revealing another open spot. Plan paths through the maze. Once you figure out the logic, things will definitely make sense.

I think one thing that threw me off initially was that I didn't think about the clouds hovering above spot X - it makes it look like the clouds are a little bit more up then they should be.
Essentially, if a far left prism's arrow is facing directly left, then as long as the bolt hits the prism from the other vertices - it will get that cloud.
