Re: Easter Eggs
Hehe! Stijn, you should have included Scorpion's (from MK) fatality move for the hero. Then the combat would have been absolutely perfect!
Re: Easter Eggs
Don't know if this qualifies as an Easter egg, but there is a Katta salesman in the northern part of town named Neko, which means "cat" in Japanese. And of course he sells some asian stuff, asian martial arts related stuff if I remember correctly. You can't buy anything from him though.

Re: Easter Eggs
ya none of the street vendors were there in the original and a lot of them are references to other things in today's world.

Re: Easter Eggs
I encountered one as well yesterday, while fighting the Griffin in the desert (after waking him up a few screens back). The Griffin fled! Am I rid of it for good, or will it attack me again?Erpy wrote:
it's a real critical hit that does twice as much damage.
Re: Easter Eggs
It will attack you 3 times in total and with each encounter, it adds more attacks to its moveset.

Re: Easter Eggs
It's a reference to a merchant from Secret of Mana that appears in various places and sells the (almost) ultimate equipment near the end of that game.Beverheim wrote:Don't know if this qualifies as an Easter egg, but there is a Katta salesman in the northern part of town named Neko, which means "cat" in Japanese. Re: Easter Eggs
You know when you talk to Merv the Griffin he says some pretty random stuff. (not what the hero translates but what Merv actually says in his dialogue box)

Re: Easter Eggs
I've been roaming around (2nd time playing, now the slow-enjoyable version , and haven't found these vendors. Do you need to have the original map? And if so, any way to change it back?There are some extra items you can buy from some of the vendors, not sure what they're for yet (they have a red question mark icon):
* Dried flower art
* Carpet
* Decorative pot
* Bumper sticker
* Brass jug
* Weaving
* Potted plant
I also found a "signed quest game box" (QfG) or something, but now I can't find it
Ive found all these things too. You can put them around your room and make it look nicer. I havent found there to be a purpose for this yet, although maybe im still missing a piece or two and it will all come together then. Some things get delivered to the Inn, other things you carry, and can then just place in your room. ive attached a screen shot for those wondering what on earth I am talking about.
oh, You can also buy boots from the leather merchant. They protect you when youre fighting Ghouls, as the acid they spray out cant hurt you.

Re: Easter Eggs
Nope, the day that the items appear in their Shop Menus is randomized, so just keep clicking the money icon on them every day to see if they're selling anything new.

I got rick-rolled right before one of Omar's poems. I thought maybe his assistant was Rick Astley and I hadn't noticed, and that he was sharing some of his poetryAnonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:It's random. Rick is very selective about who he will roll.
It seems only one person has been so far. Anyone else? speak up!

Re: Easter Eggs
If you turn parser combo on like you said you can ask shema about her relative Sallah in Tarna.BesterP12 wrote:If you have the parser or combo conversation method, you can ask at least Rakeesh and Dinarzad about Mordavia.
I went into DOSBox to verify that this was new and the original QfG2 doesn't even know the word
This parser system is so like LSL7 with both options...

Re: Easter Eggs
Also, Sloree sells the Quest for Glory II game box randomly, but I'm not sure whether or not that means you can't get the bumper sticker later.Morningstar wrote:Items for purchase that can decorate your room

Re: Easter Eggs
I saw the game box, but didn't have enough money to pick it up at the time. Now it's gone I think.
Re: Easter Eggs
It won't be gone permanently until you leave for Raseir.
Re: Easter Eggs
I figured out how to cheat already. This game is excellent BTW. I loved the original, and this remake is even better. Excellent work you guys.
Re: Easter Eggs
Hahahaha! I collected a lot of those extra items, but I never knew you could decorate your room with them. And all my save games are in the end, so my character is stuck with a load of useless crap for the final battle
surprisingly he isn't weighed down by all of it...

Re: Easter Eggs
I bought the Game Box from a merchant and it appeared leaning against the chest where the bumper sticker is in the above screencap. Maybe you can only buy one or the other?hypn wrote:anyone else found, or used, the game box yet?

Re: Easter Eggs
There's something else you can do with the game box under the right conditions (which are pretty uncommon and will probably never occur to veteran players), although I think it might be quite a while before anyone accidentally stumbles upon this. It's something that kind of breaks the "4th wall". That's likely not the best term for it, but I can't think of a better one to describe it.
Re: Easter Eggs
Is it selling the game box while having 0 dinars?
