And yet another technical oddity,

#1 Post by Freewheeler » Tue Sep 02, 2008 12:47 am

Hey, all. First off, you can't imagine the utter joygasm I felt when I came upon aa revamped site with a completed game. And even then, had I not been incapacitated at that, the game itself delivers on so many levels...Well, I can't find the words.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask if anyone else has found themselves gypped by Issur when it comes to the sword exchange. Upon trading in the trusty broadsword, not only did I not get the exchange sum as promised, but the old clunker is still in my inventory along with the new one. Anyone else encountered that?

Sorry that my first post to you guys had to be about some stupid possible bug, but other than that, know that I'm having a fantastic time playing this game. Bugs aside, seven-years-in-the-making has surely paid off big time. And while I'm sure I'm the last person whom you would ever need to hear this from, you should all be proud of yourselves; damn proud.

To the next great quest, guys.

Thanks, nice to hear you're enjoying the remake. :)

As for the bug, does that happen every time? Do you have a list of precise steps to follow in order to replicate it? Little details count too. (For example, perhaps pressing the ENTER key instad of clicking the buy button to make the purchase.)

Do you remember exactly what you did or perhaps have a savegame which consistently shows the bug which you could attach here?

Indeed.

Holy cats, but you guys work fast. ;) Indeed, the bug is a consistent one. I've tried it at different parts of the day, on different days, and still it happens.

Hard to tell, but I can assure you; the first sword is the broadsword.

Enclosed, you'll also find a save I made of the event.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Alright, we'll check into it. Seems your savefile didn't attach though. Could you put it up again?

Gah...Noticed that right after I posted, sorry. It seems the file a skosh over the limit, as well. Any suggestions?

Save games compress very well. Try putting it in a ZIP file first (7-Zip is a free way to do that if you don't already have a different ZIP program).

Aye. My issue sadly, is that I've given that file more layers than a tiramisu and can still only get it down to 260 kb...Wierd, I know. I'm starting to think it might be better to just let Issur rip me off than continue with an untenable thread. ;)
