one small request...

Inspired by the release of the QFG2-Remake I decided to play a hero through the whole series... Unfortunately, my copy of QFG3 seems to be corrupt, the error being on the installation media, I fear. At the end, in the lost city, after slaying the demon, the game crashes when I go through the door with the message "error on explode Script # 0, IP: 26f".
Now my request: Could anyone take my savegame, walk through that damn door and then save? I'd be much obliged...

Hmm you need to include glorysg.dir as well.

I tried restoring that file (by renaming it to one of my savegames) and it failed to load, said a sound was missing. You using the anthology version? My version is fully patched so not sure it's identical to yours.

Yup, I'm playing the Collection, so I thought it was worth a shot on my system, but I got an error message when I tried to force it to load that save game as well.

You playing the English or German version?

Edit: I see it's the German version. I got through the door and saved. I couldn't save immediately, but the gist of it is that you saw Reekasha, Rakeesh's daughter, and she just got possessed by a demon who taunts you with something to the effect of "Anything you do to this body hurts my enemy's daughter". That's the point I saved at.

I saved over your old savegame. If this doesn't work I know one other thing to try -- I can create an .SVF file with checksums for all the German client files. Then you can see which, if any, are corrupt and I can send replacement files.

damn, I can load, but then the game hangs... Seems like the whole room is corrupt...

Then put this file in your game directory and double click it, it should check all files (109 game files) for errors.

I could play past the room but that room is also where the finale happens, so you'd miss that too.

Maybe it is enough to replace the 140.* files, do you think?

I just checked the game with SCI Studio VGA and room 140 is the character creation screen of all things. The room you're in is room 830, which would be inside the resource.000 file I'm pretty sure.

I packed all the problematic files but I imagine it's really just the .000 file you need to replace.

Note Resource.cfg is the program configuration (choosing which drivers, etc. to use) so you might want to use yours and not mine, if your setup is different. I'd also back up the files before you replace them with mine.
