LP, I have just one thing to say about your latest pic.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Gorgeous Miss Pyro. Very very slick. I am really digging the perspective.
On another note, I was happy to see our first COSTUME based entry this evening! VERY COOL!
Keep up the great work everyone.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them!eriqchang wrote:OK.. It's amazing to me how much raw talent exists on this board. It's always so fun to see a new artist's work. I especially like the first shot in this series with the blue fire torch but ooooh the coloured, almost "Guybrush Threepwood" beach rendering is by far my favourite.
Great work again from another talented artist.
I'm curious why you all haven't entered your artworks directly to the contest page
The concept behind the beach sketch is a post-qfg5-didn't-marry-didn't-become-king scenario where the Hero saves Silmaria, and then moves on to the next adventure. (and the next, and the next, and the next... ^^)
But the ponytail and that nose DO make him look a lot like Guybrush... XD
And am intending on entering contest, have been since it was first mumbled about, but intend on entering new arts, not old junky stuff.
Thanks! ^^ Am not overly fond of the sketch (BIG head much?), but the color did turn out well. :>Lady Pyro wrote:pandor: Wow! Those look great! I especially like the beach one!

I LOVE your latest sketch Lady P. There may not have been any flying serpents in the QFG series but there were also no flying wizards, that doesn't meant that scene you drew wasn't awesome!! So is that the wizard, the thief, and the fighter all joining forces?

Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Wow, thanks for the encouragement guys! I wasn't sure about this one at first considering I got really lazy and eyeballed most of the perspective. Not to mention not being able to put in the fighter in at the size or angle I wanted, but not having the heart to leave him out.
Yeah, the original idea was that it would be the cover for a short comic I'd been doing (just for kicks) about the three of them meeting up in Shapeir but I got bored of the idea part ways through and abandoned the project (I'm not an overly dedicated writer, that and I kept opening the game to reference scenery and kept playing instead of actually drawing). But I'd started cleaning up the cover. I figure I'll fix it and print it out and when I gather up all my QFG related sketches to pack away I'll throw it on top, so it still serves it purpose.Senor Matt wrote:So is that the wizard, the thief, and the fighter all joining forces?
Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Oh awesome stuff! More people need to draw stuff for this thread!
Pandor: Nice cute style you have! I might have to search for my old OLD QFG fan art, since you so bravely shared yours.
LadyPyro: It's a collection of heroes! I love how they're all rocking their skills together. Do you have a DA account or a website? You have a really awesome style and I'd love to see more of your work.
Actually that goes for everyone on here!

Actually there were flying lizards (the Wyverns of Mordavia), there's just weren't wingless ones (like the Chinese longs).Senor Matt wrote:There may not have been any flying serpents in the QFG series but there were also no flying wizards...
You know, I had an idea on a visual project that I could do in honor of QfG2...the problem is I don't think I have the artistic eye for it and the project would likely take longer than the length of the contest. Anybody ever seen a photomosaic?

LOL! Eriq, does ASCII art count?
Brainiac! A photomosaic would be cool! My cousin has a big one of StarWars. Very nice! Hours of fun.
Edit: Removed... because Eriq is evil!!!

I do know what you mean Brainiac and I think it would be a killer undertaking. I would love to see the results. I think that'd actually be a pretty heroic entry.
Gron, you can't enter. You are on staff. And I have that piece of concept art in the development archive. Stop sharing company secrets!! (yes, I'm joking.)

Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
I'd love to get some feedback on some fanart I drew after playing through as a Fighter. It's still in its ultra rough stage, since I'm not quite happy with the Terrorsaurus, or Ego's legs. I drew inspiration (pardon the pun) after realizing how most of my battles with that particular monster ended.
And another sketch of a differently-shaped the Terrorsaurus (linked because it breaks the page):

Thanks in advance!

Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Uhhh I did have both at one point, but now my DA account is dead and unused due mostly to my inability to ever update and well, my website fell about the same way.LauraMW wrote: LadyPyro: It's a collection of heroes! I'll drop you guys a line if I ever get either up and about again but until then the only gallery of my work is in this thread. I think I came in around page 3 and there should be examples of my work at least once on every page since (Though I wouldn't swear on that) along with a full display of all the really sweet colored versions.
Ronkaperplexous: I LOVE his facial expression there.
Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
There are a LOT of really talented artists on this board. Sweeeet.
This latest posted piece reminds me of a comic rendition of the original Quest for Glory I box cover by Kenn Nishiuye. Really fine work. Please enter it in the contest.
Are there any talented writers here? photographers? sculptors? bakers? Enter your artistry!

Wow, more great drawings here! Keep the creativity flowing.
Yes, we have yet to receive our first entry of Hero Sandwiches, Elderbury Pie, or Eye Scream dessert. So for anyone with some culinary skills, the stage is wide open. Take a leaf out of Baba Yaga's (cook)book, or perhaps try your hand at whipping up some of Sloree and Scoree's delicacies! I would like to see some fan-made Saurus-on-a-stick.
As Eriq said, remember to submit these most worthy entries into the contest. If you need further incentive, just take a look at the prizes up for grabs!
Good luck!

Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Wow, it's kinda quiet in here right now.
I spose I should post something, but some of you might not like it. I draw Uhura topless in all her pictures and they're the only ones I have scanned. It's not meant in a sexual context but I censored it anyway for young eyes. Say the word and I'll take it down, don't worry I wont fight or make a fuss. I totally understand if it's considered inappropriate. (I'll just be sure to post twice as many man nipples! Bwahahahaha!)
And yeah, she doesn't look like her wonderful portraits depict. Sorry but this is kinda how I always saw her in my mind.

Lovely! ...is there an uncensored version for those of us who are over 18? :> <3
Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Definitely my favourite piece from you so far. It looks like the start of a killer piece of artwork. I would really love to see a finished piece from you. You do really refined work. I'm envious.

Actually, I don't think that she was married to him. He was just her baby daddy.
And Lady P, you are a dirty girl. Ya know Uhura always wore that big bead necklace thing at least.

Re: Quest for Glory II : Fan Artwork & Contest Submissions
Age isn't really an issue (So I spose saying 'young eyes' was a bit silly of me). I'm kind of desensitized to the whole debate over tasteful nudity in art, it's never bothered me and I was young when I'd visit our art gallery and see the laid out sculptures. And yet I know people in their 30's who would recoil in shock at the very idea.pandor wrote:Lovely! ...is there an uncensored version for those of us who are over 18? :> <3
I'm not saying what I have here is high art, but it could just as easily be considered pornographic as it could anything else.
All that being said, yes I have an uncensored version, but no it wont be posted or distributed. It's not that anyone under 18 can't appreciate art, it's that people of all ages are close minded about the human body. (Which baffles me considering we all have one).
:P
Aww thanks, that really does mean a lot coming from you. Unfortunately I'm doing a test for a studio in hopes of picking up some freelance work so the plans I had for this (And I did have a few) all have to be pushed aside at the great rick of never being picked up again.eriqchang wrote:Definitely my favourite piece from you so far. Feel free to draw it on. I'm too lazy :P Also, you haven't seen me drawing 'dirty' till you see what I did to poor Dinarzad, or the...erm...'positions' I put our hero in once the speculation over his sexuality arose.....Senor Matt wrote: And Lady P, you are a dirty girl. All of which were intended to be umm...not safe for work. Which Uhura was not. That's just me forgetting that the rest of the world doesn't look at things the same way I do

Nice work, LP. Go ahead and post the uncensored version if you want to. You could post it as a clickable link if you're concerned. That way, only people who want to look at it will click the link.
I thought I'd post scans of the concept art sketches which will be signed and given away as part of the two main contest prizes. Here they are:
I might still clean them up a little more...

An official AGD sketch. Delicious.
I have never seen that second drawing. I want it for myself. Can you make me a copy before you give it away? LOL. You have an adorable style - there is, actually, something very "game designer" about it.
Seeing as how we've only received a handful of entries so far I just may enter incognito and win it for myself.
