MSPaint Your Favourite Adventures!
Kinda like the old "VGA a Sierra Background" thread except now everyone can join in for fun! Just open up MS Paint and draw some of your favourite adventure moments. Doesn't have to be perfect. It can be free-hand if you want.
I'll start it off with a memorable moment from SQ1AGI:

I wonder what the Mac equivalent of Microsoft paint is.

Those are pretty good for MS Paint. Personally, I can't stand using it. I haven't used any old school Paint programs since Color It for Mac though.

I remember Color It! And Superpaint, I loved Superpaint. I grew up in a Mac household but I really don't like the new Macs.

Yes, Grim Fandango. I haven't really played it yet. Didn't really find it appealing. 'Tis a LucasArts title.

I'd like to play it, it looks fun and quirky. Though the last time I tried bidding on a copy on eBay, it went for a *lot* of money, more than I could afford.
Which is kinda balls...I've gotten pretty low amounts for vintage games I sold there!

I suggest it. It's one of my favorite LucasArts games. Admittedly I got stuck on a few parts and it ran like crap on my computer but it was funny well as clever, so I gave it a thumbs up.

A lot of money? You can still find it in jewel case bargain racks for like $4.99. That's where I got mine.

It's all about where you get it (Location, location, location....sorry :P). for instance on Ebay the original Final Fantasy 7 has skyrocketed into insane amounts of coin, whereas I got a slightly used copy at Value Village for 3 bucks just the other day (My old copy is so past dead. It got passed around a lot).MusicallyInspired wrote:A lot of money? You can still find it in jewel case bargain racks for like $4.99. That's where I got mine.
Ebay is fantastic for vintage things, but don't trust it to always have the lowest prices.

Re: MSPaint Your Favourite Adventures!
I have some pretty good junk stores in El Ghetto, but they hardly carry any good PC games, if any at all. I usually only get to see computer games at slashed prices when I go to the 'burbs to visit my dad; we found the Vivendi re-issues of the Sierra classics for like $6 a pop at Big Lots. I once found Legend of Kyrandia for $3 at Ollie's Bargain Basement a looooong time ago when I lived in midwestern PA.
For someone who lives in one of the shopping capitals of the world, I sure depend on eBay for tons of things! ha

eBay's kinda like playing the stock market-- you want to buy low and sell high. You win some, you lose some. I've lost and gained huge on there, I buy and sell crap on eBay constantly. My score's almost 1000!
Though accumulating all those seller fees is a total pain in the ass-- they should just debit them directly from your winnings!

Re: MSPaint Your Favourite Adventures!
Grim Fandango is a good game. Kind of slow at the start and I didn't like the controls, but I think all 3D LucasArts titles are like that. But the story and characters and writing and graphics and pretty much everything are great. It was just the game and puzzle elements that can get frustrating. I don't know about anyone else, but I think it has a very Tim Burton-esque feel to it. I could easily see it as a claymation-style film.

This is as far as I got before I got called in to work. When work stops happening I'll try to finish it.
P.S: Mspaint awkward, yet cool. I might have to try other things with it.

Re: MSPaint Your Favourite Adventures!
Thanks guys, I'm excited to work on it, it's actually quite a lot of fun and I love the premise of this thread. Unfortunately I've got a load of work and then a new demo reel to work on and blah blah blah crappy schedule. And here I thought I'd have a few days off!
