Is This it For AGD Interactive?

#1 Post by dbrunner » Mon Aug 25, 2008 1:08 pm

First, I would like to say how amazing all three remade games were in the past years. I especially loved King's Quest II+ and now Quest For Glory 2. But, is this the end of the remakes or will there be more?

We still have a few loose ends to tie up, but I don't see us starting any new remakes.

If you guys HAD to make another remake, what would it be? GOLD RUSH!, Conquests of Camelot? SQ3?

I already started a Conquests of Camelot base quite a while back. I really liked that game. But I never had the intention to make it as a full remake. Can't afford to spend another 7 years on that!

Well I'm still interested in finding out what these two "loose ends" that have been hinted at for so long are going to turn out to be.

Seems pretty conclusively to be the two King's Quest remakes, which still haven't shown up on the new site and are confirmed to be currently receiving a new update.

Didn't someone say once that there was a script for an AGDI KQ3? Maybe that's what it is.

I think that the glorious QfG 2 remake is a fitting end for AGD Interactive. It's better to go out on a high, after all. Himalaya Studios must surely be the future now, so here's looking forward to many fantastic original games to come!

Kinda reminds me of the blues and rocknroll vocal groups that still do their old ruotines. They are much much older and fatter, get dressed up in their suits and do what they did about as good as ever. Now game creators and remakers could maybe do the same, except they would not have to get dressed up and they could get just as fat as they wanted. Heck, this could be one of those perrenial affairs 24/7. Even though it's possible, it's not likely to happen. You guys are doing it for nothing and only get what praise we, the worlds gamers, give whatever praise you manage to get for doing such a stupendous J |I B T H A N K Y O U !

Space Quest 2 is currently being recreated by Infamous Adventures, the same group that did the Kings Quest 3 remake. I am pretty sure AGDI has stated in the past that they would never remake a game that was in the process of being remade by someone else.
Go to http://www.infamous-adventures.com/ to check it out, IA has some very talented people and this remake is sure to be awesome!

As for Day of the Tentacle I don't see why anyone would remake that game, the graphics when it was released were perfect. Maniac mansion already had a remake as well by Lucasfan Games and is available here http://www.bigbluecup.com/games.php?act ... ail&id=401

Actually, they've never said that. Everyone just assumed that when AGDI canceled their SQ2VGA remake because Kippesoep was making it (which hasn't ever been finished).

No, i'm pretty certain they have said something along the lines of 'why bother remaking a game that's already been remade or is being remade.' In regards to Kings Quest 3 i believe.

There were two reasons behind the cancellation of our Space Quest II project.

The first was that the main programmer disappeared without notice and the rest of the development team were busy working on the King's Quest II remake at the time.

The second reason was indeed that Kippesoep had already started his own Space Quest II project and seemed to be further along than we were, progress-wise.

Maybe this loose end is Royal Quest?

Okay, that's pretty unlikely.

Nope, just finishing up the remaining finalizations on the King's Quest remakes.

Personally, I'd like to see Conquests of Camelot remade. It's one of my favorite games. I always liked the detail that went into it, like flies collecting on bodies and the wide variety of locations you can visit. That was a good era for Sierra games. Improved graphics from the AGI games and an improved text parser that allowed more complexity than the VGA icons offered.

Space Quest 3 is my favorite game of all time.

Seeing it be remade by AGDI...would be epic for me.

Too bad that's not gonna happen :cry

I will happily look forward to their future creations, as long they MAKE something, remake or original! =)

Has anyone else ever wanted someone to make a game about adventures in W.I.T?
