exporting problem

#1 Post by wencit » Sun Jan 04, 2009 4:38 am

When I finished the game as a paladin I told it to export the character. When I went to import it into QG3 I couldn't find him. I used a near endgame save and finished it again and tried again, still no result.

I'm running windows vista, so my first thought was to run the program in the administrator mode. When I did that I found that I was looking at a different set of saved games (perhaps saved under a different resolution?). Any thoughts? I really want that character for export.

After exporting your Hero at the end of the QFG2 Remake, there should be a file with the .sav extension in your game directory. You need to manually copy this .sav file across to your QFG3 directory so that you can import it into QFG3.

If you can't see the .sav file in your QFG2 directory, take a look at the suggested solutions for Vista mentioned in the thread below and see if that helps:

That thread did it (the compatibility button). Many thanks.

You are totally awesome! I know have a complete Paladin mage, with all the magic
----------minus Reversal, after all Paladins have Magic Ward, so Reversal is not needed.
--and he has Lightening Ball which is gained in Quest 3 Tarna Jungle
--I wanted Stealth, because that is how my character evolved,
Quest 1 he survived with stealth and climbing (to get to Eranas Peace for a good nights sleep, healing and food)
and discovered that he was developing magical abilities
by Quest 2 he learns a higher magic.
Quest 3 he develops both.
Quest 4 all skills were needed to survive
Quest 5 he is retired! and this is Erasmus Island, with Practice
kind of like the movie West World, only more fun! :)

YAY!!
