RIP Home of the Underdogs
Home of the Underdogs is no more, has ceased to be, it's an ex-dog, has expired and has gone to met its creator.
What do you think about it? It's a tragedy parallel to the loss of the library of alexandria, or it was just another site that bites the dust? I personally visited more Mobygames for games info, but I think I'm going to miss it, just like so many others pages I have enjoyed that have shutted down these years.

Over half the games weren't available anymore anyway and it was always really slow. I never went there.

Yea, that was a really worthwhile site. What happened, did the lady who ran it just get too busy to actually take care of it?
Re: RIP Home of the Underdogs
The hosting site went bankrupt.
Re: RIP Home of the Underdogs
The site was as abandoned as the games it hosted, I'm surprised it managed to survive so many years (I think the last update was from 2003). Still, kind of sad.

It's a real pity. Still, life goes on and perhaps someone else shall create a HOTU v2 site in memoriam.

It's true (on the classic comment). Even searching for info on an adventure game you were usually directed to the Underdogs, I'm not sure how you could have missed it!

THEY'RE ALIVE!!
Technically, they're two new versions not directly affliated with the original site (or even each other). There's also a revival project on Google Groups.

That's exciting! The first link must have something going on with the original though, they have the exact same layout and design.

Re: RIP Home of the Underdogs
Yea the one I clicked on even had blog posts from 04 or 06. Unless they just copied the whole site exactly. I remember it years ago actually having the games for download, that doesnt seem to be the case now, which is a good and a bad thing, although most of the really old ones can't be bought anywhere anymore.Lady Pyro wrote:That's exciting! I think the first link is still going to have the downloads, they're just not up yet.
