Well...
either this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg
or this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg_(media)
The latter would be what you'll find in a computer game.

where can you find easter eggs
Re: easter eggs
The second link in Gron's post didn't work, but the article can be found through a link in the first URL he posted.
Easter eggs in games are basically hidden gags or references. Some of them pop up at random when you enter a certain place (like in the desert in QFG2, you see a mirage of King Graham from King's Quest on the ground or an airplane (also a mirage) in the sky) and others are encountered by doing something like asking Ali Chica about ducks. (he'll make a reference to a movie by the Marx Brothers)
You where do you find them? It's different for each game.

Re: easter eggs
Gron's link is practically correct. The only problem is he left that close paranthesis outside the url tags.
Honestly though, you should never ask where Easter Eggs of either kind can be found...the thrill is in the hunt!

Re: easter eggs
Oooh! We've found another bug in phpBB's auto-url-finder script.
Manually created the url... should work now.
