Which Sierra Game Should Be Remade Next?

#1 Post by crackerjack » Fri Jul 31, 2009 12:45 am

I realize this has been done many times before, but I can see that the last Poll regarding future remakes is a bit outdated so I thought I would start a fresh poll to see what the general consensus would be regarding any upcoming remakes. I'll try to include only those titles that are not currently in production. (As far as I know!)

My choices would be between Space Quest 1 and 3 ... only this time I would want the 'Funk' level in the Space Bar to match that of the EGA version in SQ1. There's nothing like Space aged ZZ Top Rock to liven up a party!!

Remember, I gave you the option to choose 2 games ... so have fun!

(I realize AGD is finished with remakes, but others may be inspired to complete a few more!)

Heh, except for Space Quest 3 (which at least 3 teams or so have already tried their hands on) I doubt anybody would take the time and effort to remake an existing VGA game. Way too much time for way too little gain.

Iceman?

I doubt anything else will be done. Very few non-vga games have major following... at least not enough to motivate one to finish the project.

Perhaps remaking ALL the games to modern standards. (Graphics) But that could end up having a bunch of 3D-shooters... not at all what we want. :(

True ... although I think SQ 3 could at least be a possibility.

Hey, what's with the 20 views and only 4 votes?

I voted for other because i think Quest for Glory 3 Wages of War should be remade next. It felt out of place for the thief no thieves guild and not much to steal.I also think if this is ever remade there should be different puzzles for playing both the fighter and paladin. The only thing that is different is at the very end when the fighter uses the spear and the paladin uses the flaming sword.

VGA games shouldn't be remade. That's why I didn't vote.

If there's no future remakes, (Which may be likely) I would at least love to see a working copy of Mixed Up Mother Goose Deluxe even if it isn't a remake. I think it would be the perfect adventure game to get my kids to start with, but I can never get the darn thing to work!

Have you tried the installer from the Sierra Help Pages? I have the King's Quest Collection and wasn't able to run the Mixed-Up Mother Goose Deluxe from it, but using the installer fixed the problem.

I think that's really what should be done for newer games: patches, installers, and improved emulation. Those are a much better use of time than spending months to recreate something exactly as it already exists.

Space Quest III to make the series complete. Putting Space Quest IV on the list at all though is a pure joke.

Yes, because I remember having played Space Quest XII and Space Quest X, but I can't recall what I did in Space Quest IV. :o

Why isn't KQ4 listed?

Police Quest 2 would also be interesting.

And let's not forget Leisure Suit Larry 2-3.
