Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Well when my B-day comes October 21st and I get my hands on a few Nintendo points cards.I will be getting this and Final Fantasy IV After Years on my Wii. This may be my first Monkey Island adventure unless I can get the SE on a disc for PC or on PS3network which I doubt but I can't wait.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Ack, I'm hundreds of miles away from my computer and can't start episode 2 let alone finish episode 1. Woe is me. Anyone know how funny this one is yet?
Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
has anyone had any issues with the MI remake?
I just tried to install it and everything was fine, but it crashes on startup. i'm trying to figure it out and it's driving me nuts because the error message isn't helpful at all!

Make sure everything's updated. Video card drivers, DirectX, the works. I've never had any problems.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
So I'm finally back at my computer and will be able to post more often again and as a side note to this I will also be able to finish episode 1 and start episode 2. The third one will probably be out by the time I finish them both Still haven't gotten the MI remake but my brother got it for his Iphone.
Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Tried that. I updated video drivers, reinstalled a few times, still no dice. directx appears to be the latest version also, and the installer installs it if you don't have that.
no idea what's going on with it. do you know if they have an official forum? i tried to register on another one and maybe that will help, who knows?
next i gotta try installing on another computer.... i wonder if i can even do a test run in a virtual machine?

I'm only about halfway through due to work and such stuff but the parts I've played so far have been constantly hilarious and defiantly up to 'Monkey Island' standards.Quest For Glory Fan wrote:Anyone know how funny this one is yet?

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
I'm curious. How did you get the game? Through Steam or the Wii (or Amazon maybe? Individual episodes are now available there too)? Otherwise the only other way to get it is through the Tell Tale Games website store...and to do that you need to already be registered. Which means you already have an account there.
Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
i'm talking about the Secret of Monkey Island remake version, sorry. maybe i should have made another thread

Ooohhh right. I knew that when I first replied to you. But then I came back to the TMI thread and mistakenly thought you were talking about TMI. My bad.
Yeah, I don't know. Some people are having problems with the remake. Best you can do is email LA I guess.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
so i went to the official forum and tons of other people are having the same problems. turns out it's a processor compatibility issue... crazy!!!! never seen that before. oh well, very sad but i'll just have to wait till my next PC to play it.
meanwhile at least i can still enjoy my tales of MI!!!

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Just finished Siege today. Everyone says this one was easier than Narwhal. I don't agree with that but it was definitely shorter. Narwhal had a game time just satisfying enough. Siege seems to be just a little bit too short. Didn't go on very long. Hope future episodes are as long or a bit longer than Narwhal.

There's now also some Extra Punctuation on his stance concerning sequels.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Well, my ancient computer finally bit the dust, so I bought an Intel Corei7 2.66Ghz and an Asus GTX295 video card with 1792 DDR Ram (pretty much the best card money can buy at the moment). Let's just say that I don't think I'm going to be experiencing slowdown issues in Monkey Island Special Edition or Tales of Monkey Island anymore.
It's also a joy to be able to play Doom3, Quake 4, and Half Life Episode 2 (at long last) at their absolute maximum settings. Now the only factor getting in my way is having the time to do so!
Speaking of Monkey Island, has anyone seen 1oneclone's videos on youtube? We need a guy like this in the remake community!

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
There's also a video demo floating around of those same MI2 scenes rendered in the Cryengine 2 with some enhancements. It still looks off perspective wise, but 'tis nice.

Did you get around to playing GTA4? Sounds like your new PC would play it nicely!Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Well, my ancient computer finally bit the dust, so I bought an Intel Corei7 2.66Ghz and an Asus GTX295 video card with 1792 DDR Ram (pretty much the best card money can buy at the moment). Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Nope, but don't tempt me... I'm supposed to be working! I've also got Fallout 3 sitting here waiting to be played, and I haven't even started The Siege of Spinner Cay yet. I really want to play Resident Evil 5 now that that's out on PC as well. Man, this is gonna be tough!
Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
Word of warning, do not start Fallout 3. Months of my life. It's very immersive and well done, I couldn't stop playing it. I'm a sucker for 50's related memorabilia, especially the music. I've got a lot of ancient music on my iPod. I've downloaded a few expansion packs as well and it's just such a great world to be playing in. My brother suggested I play Oblivion but I just couldn't get into that. Maybe because I'm not a fantasy fan. Oh well.
In other news, I bought Pokemon Platinum. Now that brings back precious memories, I'm loving this game. Bad choice considering I start my third year at university on Monday and I'm going to be completely addicted!
