Good Old Games, for those who don't know is a digital game store that offers many old games prepackaged to work on modern systems with no problems. As with all GOG games, there is no DRM. No activation and you can download the files all you want. Including Wallpaers, avatars, artwork, soundtracks, and manuals. (GK only has manual avatars and wallpaers at the moment.)

And is perfectly legal as they are backed by all the companies who contributed the games.

and to think I pirated Arcanum just a couple months ago (I do own it somewhere so it wasn't really pirating) I was actually listening to the Sins of The Father Soundtrack earlier today so it's weird to find this. That game had the best soundtrack over any Sierra title.

Yeah, I wonder if they'll try to get at least the tracks that came with the GK1+2 collection. Guess we'll see when they put out GK2. Would be nice for those who don't know about things like Quest Studios.

Yeah, ActiVision's not THAT cool. No way that'll happen. Even if they wanted to they don't have the source files for any of Sierra's old stuff. It was all thrown out in the dumpster since before it was first bought out by Vivendi.

ActiBlizzard is my favorite company though. They appeal to a lot of people and they do it well. They've held these copyrights for about a year now and they're already doing as much as Vivendi ever did with them.

Not true. Vivendi actually had a webpage section on their website for Space Quest and King's Quest plus they released collections (albeit lame as they were) of all the major Quest games except for QFG. All Acti has done was try to sell off all the IPs first of all, when that didn't happen they finally released SQ and KQ on Steam the same time SMI:SE was released, and GK1 on GoG. It is exciting that more is coming, though. But they have a long road to start impressing me. Like with sequels.

when it comes to repackaging a sierra game through dosbox and rereleasing it for money. They've both done the same thing with different titles. Plus Vivendi held the rights for how many years?

Re: Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers on Good Old Games
My point is that Vivendi actually gave hope that a lot more was coming than just monopolizing on money when SMI:SE came out. They're suits like anybody else. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that Vivendi was any beacon of light to the old franchises, but they actually allowed AGDI to release their remakes for free. Something I don't think ActiVision was too keen on when they found out.
