I did, and nothing but wasteing my time. The clock was ticking and I spent 10 of it searching for a cactus that I couldn't find. Can you tell me which screen its in? I found the snakeskin.

Hey everyone new here. But I agree with oversight1979. I can't find the cactus either. Could you take a picture of where I should find it?

Also, I got into the Oracle's cave and no one is there. What gives?

It's (as you probably expected) in one of the desert screens. Just "look" at all the cacti and you'll eventually a spineless specimen. That's the one you want.

As for the cave, there's something in there you need. The rest will come automatically.

The journal mentioned it's in a remote part of Llewdor. So not near where anyone lives. Check that area carefully. Something's hidden there.

I was coming to here to ask about the cactus. I was trying to use the knife because the spell calls for a 'cactus slice.' I guess it's back to the desert for me.

Also, I never went back in the kitchen, so my first play I died when I ran out of food to feed Manannan the Ravenous and he grew bored of hanging me upside down or making me do the YMCA. I'll check to see if there's re-spawning food.

The puzzle to open the laboratory is brilliant. I love that little extra addition to the overall story!

a) This game wouldn't be so much fun if it wasn't a little challenging. It's do-able, just take a few deep breaths, take a break, and then come back and try again.

b) I'm not gonna say I didn't have to get some hints from this forum but it IS possible to figure out what to do.

Ok. So whenever the wizard leaves or naps you only get 15 minutes. Why? Why can't it be 25 minutes like the other 2 versions had?
Then there's the code thing with the trap door. Again, the other 2 didn't have a stupid code?
So I am done! I thought your game would be BETTER then IA's game and I was sadly wrong. So whenever someone makes a walkthrough, then and ONLY then will I play it!

I found it KQ3R actually is a much better approach compaired with the classic KQ3
1. KQ3R - You have shorter time, but you have UNLIMITED time. classic KQ3 - You have to complete it within a LIMITED time before he turns you to dust. Which is better? To me, UNLIMITED time wins hands down.
2. Trap door - I don't see what's the fuss here. My first impression when I found the trap door with secret code - "Hm... This is new... interesting... much better than the original one...". KQ3R not only makes everything EASIER, but also makes everything more INTERESTING.

The idea of Redux is not to make your life difficult. Classic KQ3 yes, it really painful as it can easily bump into deadend (and problem is, you don't even know you hit into deadend!).

Don't give up, among all adventure games, KQ3R is in the scale of 3/10. Not difficult to the extreme yet. The solution to the puzzle are practically LOGICAL, as long as you spend a little more time figuring out the details.
Extreme one I would say LucasArts DOTT, Sam&Max, Monkey Island, that's really really painful, though you will not bumb into deadends unlike Sierra, but some of the puzzles/solutions are really messed up as the solution are ILLOGICAL.
Examples of ILLOGICAL solutions:
- Monkey Island 2: Logically, who would think of using a real monkey as a wrench???!?! Though we called it "monkey wrench"!!
- DOTT: DOTT is really reallly full of ILLOGICAL puzzles to the extreme. Who would think of washing our car will actually cause a rain/lighting?!?!? Who would think of painting the tree to RED will fool Washinton to chop the tree down?!?

There are lots more crazy puzzles in many adventure games, KQ3R is not one of them.

These are actually both logical. Painting the tree red makes Washington think it's a cherry tree, and a very common myth is a story about Washington as a little boy chopping down a cherry tree.
As for the car, a common gag found in cartoons is rain coming whenever a person decides to wash their car. It's something of a representation of really bad luck, I believe.

Now, I'm from the US and so is LucasArts, so I don't know how prevalent these myths are outside of the country. If you're from somewhere outside the US, then it's possible that these things aren't well-known to you. In that sense, I can see how the puzzles might seem illogical, even though it's just a result of cultural confusion.

Also, I was so caught up in the pretty colors and easy interface it took me ages to find out how to use the bard's cup... that's what happens when you just assume you know, and can see, enough

It's not in Medusa's den. That's a bit TOO far northwest.
