Quest for Glory III steam import not working.

Have finished this version of QFG 2 and tried importing to steam QFG 3 however every time I do I get the message

I'm terribly sorry.That doesn't seem to be a proper "Quest for Glory II" saved hero file..

Could someone help me please.

Maybe try fixing it via https://blazingstix.com/apps/qfgimporter (yes, I know it's a https website with currently an expired certificate...).

You can also use it to create an export file from scratch to see if the problem is Steam's QFG3.

Alternatively, try restoring a save file before the endgame, then create a new export to see it persists.
