How many times?

#1 Post by Wolfgang Abenteuer » Wed Mar 13, 2002 11:20 pm

Ok. I know you've all played KQ1VGA and most likely all of you have finished it. My question here is, how MANY times have you finished it...i.e. played it all the way through? (You HAVE done it more than once haven't you? :P )

Myself, I've finished it around 25 times. I say "around" because I'm not EXACTLY sure how many but I know 25 is close. So am I the only one that's obsessed and possessed by the AGD's masterpiece or are there others that have it worse than me? I mean, this game is so amazing to me that I'll just sit down and think, "Ok, I'm just going to play the first part so I can push the witch into the pot" and before I know it I'm walking into the castle to become king...AGAIN!!! My friend has a hard time playing a game more than one time, but if I find a game that I really enjoy *cough*KQ1VGA*cough*, I can play it over and over and still never tire of it.

So enough of my rambling...how about you guys?!

~Wolfgang

I've played and finished it quite a lot of times. This is since I've downloaded the game, the voicepack a little later and the music pack yet a little later.

I'm not good in estimates, but my guess is about 12 times.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/nashg ...

KQ1VGA 3 times,
KQ1EGA 15 min
KQ1AGI- 1/2 of it. I was playing it a few years ago and on my fast computer Slow was 2 slow and fast was to fast. I got fed up of it and stuck with EGA (the only other one at the time!)

KQ1 EGA: At least 100 times. Pathetic, no? It was one of my only sources of entertainment in the mid to late 1980's.
KQ1 SCI: 2 or 3 times. I never really got into it having played the EGA version to death already.
KQ1 VGA: I'd say about 5 times already, 3 of those just searching for Easter Eggs...

KQ1:AGI = 1 time. I never really played the original until the mid 90's.
KQ1:EGA = 7 times.
KQ1:VGA = 2 times. I do a lot of saving and trying different stuff. I never really needed to play it more than a couple tomes to get the full entertainment value. I'll pull it out again in a couple months perhaps.

KQ1AGI: Not even once. I only played it up to the woodcutter's place and then quit after I fell through the floor, becauase I didn't saved the game.

KQ1EGA: I've loaded it up about 1000 times, but proabably played it to the end about 15 times.

KQ1VGA: A million times (All that bug testing! etc)

Wow, this is really an inspiring thread! I'm really glad to hear so many of you have enjoyed our version of the game numerous times!

As for myself, I would say I've played:

AGI Version: Played it many times at home and at friends' houses as a child, but probably only a few times to completion. It's hard to say, it was so long ago. But, I remember playing the game a LOT...just walking around, and trying things out. I was fascinated with it...

EGA version: Played it probably a couple times to completion. I explored it a lot though while creating the VGA remake. For a while there, I didn't realize that my childhood memories were split between these two games. I somehow combined them both in my memory...but soon realized that there was a BIG difference between the two!

VGA version: Also millions of times (bug testing/pleasure)

AGI: about half of it - I got stuck with the eagle (I knew what to do but couldn't catch it) and gave up.

EGA: two or three times

AGI: once only actually complete and I started it another time when I downloaded the voice pack but didn't have the time to play it through. And then I got fed up by the way it rearranged the icons on my desktop. (every time after playing the game, all the icons were on top of each other in the left upper corner and I got sick of rearranging them)

--
<img src="http://liralindriel.bbboy.net/tags/lira ...

<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="#0f6efa", strength=#+2)>Lira Lindriel

- - - - - - -
<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="#5a64d2", strength=#+2)>Magic is real

- unless defined integer.

Visit me! and your score?

#12 Post by Holophrastic » Fri Mar 29, 2002 11:13 am

More importantly, what is your highest score?
I just played the remake for the first time. I got 141 of the 158. Damned if I know where to get the rest.

There are multiple ways of doing many things. Some solutions give you more points than others. Did you get all the optional treasures, by the way? (and did you make sure none of them was stolen?)

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashm ...
