Beware! Dead Ends!

#1 Post by Renodox » Sun Nov 10, 2002 11:34 am

First off I want to warn you that this post has several spoilers so don't read if you don't want to get spoiled.

Well, in order to help out those of you who don't like dead ends I'll post up every one that I know... there aren't many...

1. Cut the rope off the well before getting the mirror.
2. Give the mirror to the troll.
3. Give the mirror or chest to the rat
4. Get the chest or mirror stolen by the drwarf
5. Let the Witch finish heating her cauldron
6. Grab the condor without a treasure or cheese
7. Get in the leprechaun hole without the mushroom
8. Get in the leprechaun hole without the fiddle or clover

Well, that's all that I can think of. Anyway that is a lot for a single game I guess. If you know any more post 'em here.

9. Eat the magic beans

10. Kill the goat and give all your minor treasures to the troll without meeting the gnome

I'd like to add that giving the chest or mirror to rat, giving the shield/chest/mirror to the troll and eating the beans is BEGGING to get into a dead end situation.

Cutting the rope ain't very smart either.

The main dead end thing is entering the land of the leprechauns without the needed items.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/nashg ...

That's true but anyone who hasn't heard or read Hansel and Greatle (yes, they DO exist) could get caught in the witches house. I had a cousin who kept telling me not to push her because she always saw him comming.

Hansel and Gretel exist? I always thought they were fairy tale characters.

You're right, Arjak. It was silly of me to think that Hansel and Gretel actually exist. That other member, Renodox, said that they do exist. I was wondering if he really meant it.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... rill101 at: 11/28/02 7:15:20 am

Well...according to my history teacher

#6 Post by Renodox » Thu Nov 28, 2002 8:41 pm

My history teacher claims that there was a pair known as Hansel and Grettle (though there was no witch and candy house) they had apperently killed thier grandmother. That's how the story got published. Of course he also says that the story speaks about thier past fears: they get lost in the woods, are lured by bait, and they burn the witch to death. Scary.

What motivated Hansel and Gretel to kill their own grandmother?

Darned if I know. I'm not sure if I fully believe in my teacher, though. He had kind of a wierd view on fairy tales.

Sigh ... what can I say? I think you believe anything on TV, film or what "teachers" say! The story is fiction, it was written as fiction and will always be fiction.

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> Beware of the greatest liars: teachers!

I've found...

I've found that, in KQ1VGA at least, as long as you keep your feet on the large part of the beanstalk, you'll be fine. Don't worry about your hands so much, just be sure to keep your feet on and if you keep them low enough on the vines, you shouldn't fall off. Ok...I'll try to explain what I mean by "low" using some rather shoddy ASCII art: <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

Obviously, for vines and the main stalk that go straight up, there's no confusion. You probably only die when going side to side or up a curve, correct? Well, sides would be done like this (the "x"'s mark your feet):

___________
_xx________

rather than this:

_xx________
___________

...and on curves you should go like this:

.......\....\
........\....\
.........\....\
..........\xx..\
...........\.....\

rather than this:

........\....\
.........\.....\
...........\....\
............\..xx\
.............\.....\

...uhm anyway, that's what I do! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> Just remember to keep your feet on the inside part of the curves and the bottom part when they go straight across. Good luck!

~Wolfgang

save, restore, save, restore, followed by beating your head against the wall ... yeah, it took me many tries to get up that beanstalk. then, once i figured out the red dot dealie ... it still took forever. ah well, it was worth it in the end.
