The King's Quest experience (contains spoilers)
I recently finished your VGA remake of King's Quest I. Replaying it after all those years was a very positive experience. I could play along the same line I did with the original, only seeing the world in more colours and interacting with it in more detail.

I saw on this forum that the puzzle of the gnome's name has been made a bit more easier. Good decision. It was a killer back then. Plus, also the old solution still works.

I can say I had a lot of troubles with the condor. I believe to remember that in the original it appeared randomly at the cave entrance, just like the monsters at other locations. I have to admit that when it didn't show up in the remake, I took a peek in the walkthrough on this site. It appears you first have to obtain the mirror and the chest for the eagle to appear.

In the original I always retrieved first the shield and then the chest, because the shield defends Graham against the giant. I was a bit disappointed that this was not possible anymore, because I thought it such an elegant solution to the problem. Better than just taking a run for it. Besides it is a bit strange not to have any use in the game for the three most powerful magical items in the kingdom. Using the ring is a nice alternative though. I never thought of that in the original.

I will continue with your KQ2. Reading all the positive remarks on this forum, I am very curious.

Our VGA-version is a 1:1 conversion from Sierra's EGA-remake. Most of the things you noticed were in that version as well. (condor not appearing until you have the chest and mirror, gnome puzzle made easier, not getting the shield against the giant)

If you've played the original KQ2 as well, you'll be very surprised by the new version.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...
