Eusperia and Merchant Books

#1 Post by Dragon » Fri Jan 17, 2003 4:16 am

What's the point with this Eusperia kingdom? Was it just a side story only in KQ2 that Wookie planned? Or is it something that might come in later KQ stories by Wookie because they mentioned the Kingdom in the library too.
I also liked the book in the library about being a merchant and talking in a strange accent. I'm sure the merchant read this or he would never have helped Graham complete his quest. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

WARNING: Pastal Hashtas Draco Malat (Don't Breath Dragon's Breath)

Yeah, the merchant book is a reference to the merchant at the town square.

As for Eusperia in a later story by Wookie, maaaybeee....then again, maybe not.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nasha ...

I knew it! Maybe you could use it in KQ3 after Alexander escapes the ship and comes to shore, like he could go to the kingdom of Eusperia and from there with the help of the people or something and then cross the mountains because the shore and treasure in KQ3 were a bit boring, so maybe Alexander can use some spells(new ones) and treasure in Eusperia and make going to the Mountains more intresting.

And I always wondered, how did Graham in KQ2 and Alexander in KQ6 use the ship and go to other lands when in KQ1 there was no dock. Did they have to go over the mountains to the shore to travel by ship?

WARNING: Pastal Hashtas Draco Malat (Don't Breath Dragon's Breath)

Hmmm...

In general, KQ1 doesn't feel like they knew they'd be basing an entire series on it. The Daventry of KQ1 was doughtnut-shaped and you always got back to where you were when you walked in one direction far enough. So it'd be impossible to get from that land to anywhere else. I guess it's just assumed that there is a port somewhere and you just can't get there in the first game.

There's a contradiction in KQ2+!!!
From his experience in KQ1, Graham should have known the earth is round, so he shouldn't have been surprised when he read about it in the count's library <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b">

It's a bit hard to imagine a world being such a tiny toroid shape <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> . The whole wraparound thing is very silly and confusing unless that area is really supposed to be round. It fits for the Arcada of SQ1, but not for Daventry of KQ1.
