I thought the nightingale's death was one of the best parts of King's Quest II VGA. I've never laughed so hard while playing an adventure game as I did when seeing that for the first time in beta testing.

Hmmm... I should have had thrown more deceased animals into the mix.

Just think.

A sea of dead fish. A sky full of falling birds. *shudder* Thanks but no thanks! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

As to the voicepack, as I said elsewhere, I'd prefer getting two games without voicepacks to just one with voicepack. A voicepack might of course be a cool addition but it would mean postponing QfG2 for instance. I was dissapointed that there wasn't going to be a voicepack at first. But now I think it works better without one. I'd rather the voices be left to the imagination than there actually being voices and possibly being dissapointed. (A LOT of people don't like KQ5 for that <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> ) But even if they wouldn't be dissapointed, I still think it's better without the voicepack.
"Requires MCGA, CGA, VGA, PGA, or TA-RA-RA-BOOMGA!!" -Gary Owens, SQ4

KQ1VGA - Voice pack was about... 20 smega bytes and thier were only...(accordin to the knight)..8 speaking characters. KQ2VGA has triple the amount KQ1 had and think of the download size. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

If only KQ2VGA was on a CD... *drools*

I doubt the people who work there now would even know how to make an adventure game! They fired all their adventure-game-worthy workers.

I wish I had lots of money so I could sponsor people like Tierra and others that are as talented as them and show those Sierra guys that making adventure games is worth it!

<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="mintcream", strength=#+15)> Lira Lindriel - - - - - - - Magic is real - unless defined integer!

Backyard Discussions ~x~ Lira's Duchy ~x~ My poems, stories and tags

And another thing Tierra....Spoilers

#40 Post by Haley » Thu Feb 20, 2003 8:11 am

While Graham is taking the second test in KQ2, the game said, his 18 year old daughter was sacrificed to the three-headed dragon. But Rosella couldn't have been 18 because if she were 18 Alexander would have been 18. And Manannan would have killed Alexander on his 18th birthday.

Actually...

#41 Post by adeyke » Thu Feb 20, 2003 8:18 am

It could just have been her 18th birthday. I believe it's revealed through one choice that Alexander is off the coast of Daventry. As KQ3 starts out right before Alexander's 18th birthday, it could be that a day had passed while Alexander was on the ship, and that they're both 18 then...

Or maybe it is an oversight <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> .

But, of course, Tierra by no means is obligated to follow the Sierra stories to the letter. Thus, the point is moot.

Maybe

#43 Post by anathoth8 » Thu Feb 20, 2003 9:15 pm

Perhaps that is true. However, Tierra has tried to follow the dates and places of the Sierra series very closely. You should have seen the post of one observant player who found an inconsistency in the date of the bible page, compared to the dates that were written on the tombstones in KQ4. And the AGDs changed it to fit in. So obviously, they do care about making it consistent, even if they don't have to.

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

Also I heard elsewhere, that the reason Hagatha imprisoned Valanice in the quartz tower was because she saw Valanice with the prince of Kolyma and was pissed off because she wanted the prince as her husband. So she locked Valanice in the tower on the enchanted island.

Well, it's definitely not in the manual. So it may either be fanfiction or maybe in Peter Spear's KQ Companion. (also a form of fanfiction)

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

Well Hagatha does mention that she has Valanice locked away to keep her beauty away, because Hagatha was once the most beautiful. Then she turned into the witch she was in the game.
"Lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot; do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"
