I looked through my other screenshots and I found a black piece of debris flying through the air. I took it out, resized it and added it. The screenshots are ready! We will release the screenshots Christmas Eve when the website and demo are ready.

The demo is done we are tweaking it. This is just to keep you updated out their on the web. The team right now consists of me and a few friends who I have worked with before; we are all local. If you want to contribute from the Net, e-mail me at benjamin@rev6.com . Trust me, you will KNOW when you are on the developement team. So far I have seen some interest here, but also fear of failure. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

We got some good feedback here on the Technology demo, re: our use of Inventory, scrolling screens and puzzle. Apart from the demo, we got feedback on character design, the background design, the artistic style of the project, your feelings on a remake and your desire to see a quality game.

To address your concern, releases will get more restrictive! Time spent addressing non-existent problems (like the background image of the Technology demo) will be avoided this way. We'll use WinRAR to make a RAR file for the Christmas Demo (to restrict access to only those people who can figure out WinRAR), but the Alpha release will use Setup Factory (an Installer maker).

Update: Colonel's Bequest Remake is a lot darker than the original. Also we are toying with a video intro so our 3D characters can get down and dirty. My personal experience with video at 640x400 means 320x200 video stretched to full-screen (higher than that and it lags too much especially if the game is every played off a CD-ROM drive).

Update 2: A new character has been added to the game! The doberman! He will be wandering every 10th screen, so if you don't have the slab of beef he will attack you, unless you leave that screen right away. So much for scrolling screens. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> Of course, we could dump the character...

Update 3: Laura Bow in 3D looks like the Laura we know and love from the front (see Blackthornes example). The side view is being worked on now (her profile). She will be wearing a dress, and we have files ready with a lantern in her hand and the magnifying glass. We finished the bend animation (for when she bends over, squints and looks through 'the holes), and the dress is getting final touches.

Would it be possible to just continue in this thread instead of starting a new one when you intend to bring the subject to our attention again? Keep in mind that these gamemaking forums are still part of our community, so if people start creating multiple threads for their project's sake, we'll have to ask them to create their own community to handle things through.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashu ...

I'm here for feedback.

I can go to the AGS forum for feedback on the demo. This matches the forums now... The CGA guy -> ANYWAY.... LBCBR.com is available so we are trying to get that domain name.

Finally, here is our master checklist. Just checking off each item. Of course we are programming the game using AGS, but this is what else we have to accomplish:

- Domain name/website
- Flowchart/Screenplay doc with (w) Script #'s
X Script with Flowchart references (w #'s for AGS dialog)
- Character Views w walking animations and talking animations
- Special Action animations for characters
- Inventory Items large (game) & small (inv) w get @/use@
- Background pictures
- Background sprites (insects/gator/candles/newstuff)
X Music
- Sound Effects
- Intro Video
- Keyboard Walk (diagonal like original @ persp. angles)
- Sound settings dialog box and custom GUI buttons
X New Logo for Game
- Cutscenes
- Easter Eggs
X Borders around dialog boxes
- Clock Animation

Anything I'm forgetting? Post here. Thanks. BTW anyone hear Black Christmas is being remade? I can't wait!

Also this game could be released under any company name. Any suggestions? I like the sound of Blue Fugu. Is AGDI an open group?

Jodo Kast

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... orums>Jodo Kast at: 12/17/03 8:23 pm

Erpy, I thought I read somewhere on the old Tierra website that if another team were to build a remake which was up to the quality of the AGD's work, then Tierra would look into releasing it under their name.

Isn't this the case anymore? Using --even former-- logo name of other company just does not sound right. And many people would think that you do that on purpose (you know what i mean).
It would complicate things. Can't you imagine an original
name?
