Hero of Infamous Kingdoms wasn't AGDI related, though.

Or was it??? I don't think it was..

I'm pretty sure you'll remember between now and a week or 2, Angelus.

Haha!! Now I remember! It was that QFG2 slot machine game!

either I missed the slot machine or it was the year before because I remember people talking about it.

You probably missed it, because it was last year. It was a slot machine with QFG2 character portraits as slots. We promised the first player to get a certain amount of credits a "developer version of QFG2VGA". (which would have all developer shortcuts intact, like warping and playing combat scenes at will)

The slot machine game was rigged, however, so winning was impossible. When your credits were low, winning combinations had an increased chance of showing up, while winning combinations had a decreased chance of showing up when your credits were high. Eventually, the chance to get a win was reduced to 0% if you even got that high and the game would never allow a combination if that combination resulted in a score equal to or higher than the "winning score".

After pulling the handle a certain amount of times (probably 200 or so), the numbers 04-01-05 appeared on the slots and a message was shown, telling you it was an april's fools joke.

We appeased the lynch mob by making the character portraits shown in the slot game available as forum avatars.

I remember hearing all about it but it was only up for awhile because it took so much room or something so I missed it for a couple days. I was much busier fighting in those days.

as to what the surprises are, our only hint is 'fans of the first two KQ remakes should enjoy them'..

I think it's a reasonable assumption to say these surprises must be KQ related.
I think there are other "reasonable" assumptions that don't have to include KQ.  AGDI has only made 2 fan games, and they happened to both be of the KQ series, and both those games are adventure games.  It could be reasonable to assume it's adventure game related, maybe even Sierra related, but it doesn't have to be KQ related.

Fans of the 1st 2 remakes would enjoy other adventure remakes as well, KQ-related or otherwise.  Although, I doubt they're making another fan game (I think AGDI will soon be in the commerical game making biz only), it's just another reasonable assumption.[/quote]

Maybe Sierra/VUGames has asked them to create brand new commerical Kings Quest adventure games.

Oh please God, that would be perfect, but unlikely. I'd still like to place my hopes on that idea though, or another idea that's just as unlikely but wishful thinking, expansion packs for KQ I/II VGA.

Just the promise of two suprises whatever they may be makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

A KQ MMORPG would be perfect? I think not.....that style already destroyed MOE.

I've long envisioned a Sierra-esque MMORPG. If it was done right, it would be amazing. Obviously MOE was nothing like such a game should be... it's not even worth bringing up in any such discussion.

I never played MOE

I wouldn't know MOE since I never played it, and since everybody who has played it seems truly traumatized if not emotionally scarred for life, it's probably a good thing. Not to mention that my lack of MOE exposure is probably what allows me to believe that a KQRPG would be perfect (especially if its done by fine folks like agdinteractive).

Simply put, King's Quest is an adventure. MMORPGs are not. It wouldn't fit. Not in my opinion, anyway.

Hmmm... perhaps it's re-make of MOE, but in KQ1-6 style.

Royal Quest?

Perhaps they will finally finish the never released Royal Quest 1 & 2 games.  This would make two surprises that would please most fans of the remakes.

Perhaps they won't do anything this year, since everybody is expecting one and when they find something that comes out of the blue and never seen before they'll just simply believe it's an April Fool's Day prank. Last year, April 1st, I went to see what AGDI had done and saw the Slot Machine and automatically knew it was a prank without even playing it.

There were never 2 Royal Quest games planned, only 1.

This thought has always interested me. Or a re-make of MOE in KQ7 style. However, when you boil it down, there's not enough of anything in MOE to make it an adventure game, in terms of characters, stories, puzzles, etc. It would require way too much work to flesh it out nicely, when I'm sure the AGD's would rather spend their time on their own, new original games, such as Al Emmo.

sorry, false alarm... nothing to see here people.

Seriously the anticipation is killing me, at least give us another hint. I feel like a kid waiting for candy.
