If you're using Windows XP, try enabling Windows 95 compatibility in the executable's properties menu. The voices play fine for me, but overall, the sound isn't very good. DOSBox is the next thing I'm going to try.

Okay, that crap has got to go.

I had problems running my QFG4CD in dos and getting voices.  Windows ran fine, and I use Win 98SE

As a blanket post to all of those who haven't played the QFG series and yet are waiting for QFG2 -- GO OUT AND PLAY IT!!! The first reason I found Tierra was because I heard they were going to make a QFG2 remake in the future (back when they were still making Royal Quest they had plans for this) and I've waited this long for it. The AGDs themselves were once QFGFans that worked on Hero6, so this is like homecoming! So, if you're an AGDI fan or a Sierra fan at all, you'll do your best to get your hands on these games or so help you you'll be crazy dead!

BTW, Angelus, c'mon, man. There's stuff that's charming about the old EGA graphics. You still play KQ4, don't you?

I so want a KQ4 VGA remake.  KQ4 was one of the first Sierra games I bought on my own, with my own money!

Some people don't like it, but I love King's Quest 4.

Anyone else having trouble running the old QFG games?  I mean, the ones without Windows support...Because I have a copy of QFGA, and I was trying to run QFG3 outta DosBOX but it runs reeaaaaal slow...even at like 10000 frames..and yet another dumb question, but is VDMSound supposed to run the game or just set up some dll?

charachu, if you're having trouble running the QFG games, just go onto http://www.geocities.com/belzorash/ and download the patches for the games. That's the way I'm able to take care of them. That used together with VDMSound fixes every QFG problem I've ever had. Peace.
