I'm really rooting Tierra for a KQ3, it reallys sounds like something to look forward too. And I will support them with everything I got, except money:( , sorry. just confidence. Yeah that LSL4 thing should just be left alone, but it would be nice if there was one, an extra adventure with our Larry. But whoever said about a PQ2 remake, is that true?

I remember that some team is doing a remake of PQ2.
Leave poor Larry alone.

Remake suggestion

#279 Post by Storm » Wed Jan 15, 2003 7:05 am

While I look forward to see Tierra's remake of KQ3, I thought about remaking another game - "Eric the Unready".
It's a text-adventure, so a remake would take a lot of work, which probably mean I won't even try that. However, I think the plot is definitly worth it - it's a has parody about Star-Trek, Lord of the Rings, Mythology and what not.
I found the game as abandoneware, so I don't know if copyrights will be an issue there.

The abandonware game DOES violate the copyright. Remaking it whould depend on your skill, who made the orginal game and will they care if you remake it.

For the time being I dont think Sierra cares for this, if their KQ series is being remade or not. Actually, this is a favor for Sierra, since more people are now familiar with the series...if Seirra was to still make them..more people would have bought them, thanx to Tierra.

I know that if I didnt have the KQ collection, I would have bought it. That was the first thing that came to my mind after playing KQ2+.

There was a significant boost in sales of MoE after the release of KQ1VGA from poor people who thought they'd be getting something similar to that game :P.

Well, seems like I'm the only one here that liked MOE.
I'm glad to be the MOE ambassador to this land of Tierra, where people dont really know the game and need me to explain them why it is that good 8)

As an adventure game, KQ2VGA is certainly better than MOE. I had more fun playing KQ2VGA, true, it was a very good game. But I liked the mystery of MOE as well. Keep an open mind and see that the world of adventures you know is wider ;)

MOE........................................................

#284 Post by The Knight » Fri Jan 17, 2003 1:15 am

The main reson why most people didn't like MOE. Is because of the fact that is broke more KQ traditions, than there are pages in war and peace(exaggeration).

True, but MOE has other advantages, other features to offer.

I dont care for what others think, that game was awesome!!!! :evil Great! Overwhelming!
Ha!!!!!!!!!!!Ha!!!!!!!!! It is for sure a KQ! And it will forever be on!!!!!!!!!!!! :evil :evil ;)

Vildern -
Were you taking advantage of the fact I wasn't here for 5 minutes or are you trying to piss me off on purpose? >:

What features DOES MOE has to offer?
I have no idea why you like this game so much. I know you like action games, but from what I heard it pretty much sucks even for an action game.

IT IS NOT A KQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And in my book it's not even a proper adventure.
I mean, someone can put shit in a jar and label it "honey" but it won't make it honey. Sierra put MOE in a box and labeled it "King's Quest", that doesn't make it a KQ. I hope you can see the analogy here.

BTW - you still haven't given me one viable reason why my theory of MOE's creation isn't plausible.:evil

You Anti-MOE! You are blind and cant see the truth.

Come my child, I shall deliver you ;)

Now seriously, I dont like MOE because of its 'action' moments. They are weak. When playing I looked at it as a KQ game, and after a short while I liked it.

Now I've an analogy for you :p
Take 5 monkeys. All of them have hands, but the last of them doesnt. The fact that he doesnt have hands, doesnt disqualify him from being a monkey. I hope you can see the analogy ;)

MOE isnt an adventure game. This game is weak both as an action game and both as an adventure game. But it was fun!!! Fun I tell you!

~It was interesting exploring new worlds.

~The dialogues were good.

~Sierra created it. ROBERTA WILLIAMS DEVELOPED IT AND TITLED IT: KQ!! It is, and it will forever remain a KQ.

Have a good day :)

Maybe I should root this one out before it has the chance to fill the thread.

I'm usually not too fussy about off-topic situations, but this poll/thread is a fairly important and major one and not the best place for a MOE-debate. Continue this one in the off-topic forum if you must or forget about it if you want. But don't continue here.

WWWAIT!!! what about LSL3

#291 Post by Broomie » Sat Jan 18, 2003 12:34 am

Thinking about Leisure Suit Larry 3, would that be classed as a good remake for Tierra in the future? That would be pretty cool. Some of you proberly won't agree cause I know what some of you are like. Well I don't... but I'm guessing you won't like it. But who would? :\

Frankly, I hope that you guys at Tierra wait a little while before releasing yet another Kings Quest game. I mean, let the Graham family rest for at least one year or two!
(not that there is anything wrong with the 2 games, their both well done. Truly great!)

What I really want is a remake of Laura Bow 1: Colonels Bequest! It has exciting mistery and suspense, and it presents lots of interesting characters to interact with. The game is a very unusual adventure, actually, because it has very few puzzles to solve (and most of them are optional). The truly great parts of the game are the dialogues and the gathering of clues and such!

Laura Bow 1 is, for me, one of the best adventures EVER!:D

(also, LSL2 would be a good choice, too!);)

Erpy (or whichever moderator who did that) -
Removing my last post without even as much as giving a reason was really insulting! >: >: >:
The fact that you removed it all rather than edit it (and that it's the only one you chose to remove) gives me the impression you have it in for me.

>: >: *sulking*>: >:

Whatever. It's your forum, do what you want with it.

I'm not sure exactly what the post was that was deleted (I wasn't the one to do it). However, it should be noted that this thread is an important one that really should remain on-topic. If you want to give more input about what the next remake should be, please feel free to comment. However, other posts should be kept outside of this thread.

KQ3.........................................................

#295 Post by The Knight » Sun Jan 19, 2003 8:13 pm

Now with the KQ3 team going. It looks like the AGD's might be able to work on a different game after QFG2.
I know that PQ2 is being done. I don't know about the others.

It wasn't just your post Storm, it was also one made by Vildern I removed to get the thread back on topic as quickly as possible. I didn't want any MOE-debate related comments after my previous statement anymore because that would increase the chance that it would be picked up again by someone else. It's nothing personal. Please don't take it that way.

KQ3 Team?

#298 Post by navynuke04 » Tue Jan 21, 2003 10:06 am

Knight, to clear up any confusion, Tierra has not formed a KQ3 team. At least not yet. No work has been done and no progress made. AGD2 has contacted me, but I am not part of Tierra. It was just an idea he had that was taken the wrong way. There has been discussion about forming a KQ3 team, but nothing is official yet.

What I ment by "KQ3 team" was not referring to an offcial Tierra team. But, the team you put together(You, MuzlakOofmay,Musicallyinspired.), which if for some reason it didn't become offcial. Then, could start working on it anyway, without having to find people to help(because, you already found some.)

Well, nothing is settled for now. FOR NOW. Seems like in the future the next big goal will be KQ3, since the majority voted for it ;) I hope it will be the next remake.
After seeing Tierra's remake for KQ2 and KQ1, I'm eager for more KQs remakes, and hope that even KQ4 will get the highest percent in a future survey (!). ;)
Well, these are just my whishes of course.

And here's just a thought, Erpy, about your last post here...when you insult somebody, then he will probably wont post here again...so...better be careful, I think...
