Haha! Sorry, MI, I certainly didn't mean to hijack your thread! I just couldn't help it; you inspired me! :p
I wish other people would add to this thread with their own AGI versions of the VGA classics. It'd be cool to get a kind of gallery going! *looks encouragingly over at other members* Come on!

Incidentally, I took the VGA version of that scene and ran it through the SCI Companion converter and the results look arguably better than Sierra's EGA version. Take a gander.
Sierra's:

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I liked Quest For Glory I. In AGI? Or was it Ega lol. I get confused with that stuff. Anywho, I think that was one of the coolest games released in the late 80's. Cuz the atmosphere was just awesome.
What do you think?

AGI is an interpreter engine. EGA is a graphics standard. They're completely different. Technically, AGI games have EGA graphics but we refer to them as AGI so as not to confuse them with EGA SCI games (SCI is another interpreter engine). And yes the EGA version of QFG1 is good.

Ya the SCI does look clearer than the Sierra's EGA.

I know I shouldn't disturb the dead threads, but I just became a fan of Lambonius! His AGI mockups are colorful and awesome, and the retro feeling just makes it even better due to the constraints he had to work around. A truly piece of art!

What's most amazing is that if they are truly AGI screens, they have been done with just "line" and "fill color" tools.

They were indeed. It's definitely an interesting way to work, if rather unintuitive.
